Difference between PS3, PS3 Slim, PS3 Fat?

Anything goes, MW3 runs perfectly on my 60 GB, as well as big games like The Last of Us, Heavy Rain or Killzone 3.

I'd like to know if the PS3 Slim is better than the PS3 Fat and why, as I want a PS3 but I don't know which one to choose since I've heard that the Fat lags and the Slim overheats.

Take a slim since they are reliable and very easy to find. I bought a fat 60 GB from Leboncoin three months ago, but just because I prefer it by far to the slim, simply because it has 4 USB ports and card readers.

Strange, MW3 has already run for several hours straight on my fat without any issues, just like Red Dead Redemption (which requires as much resources as L.A Noire). After that, it may depend on the conditions of your console; mine is elevated for better cooling, and I open it up to clean the dust from time to time.

I don't know why, but I sense fakeness in what you're saying, because I have a fat PS3 and I can play all the games, I mean all the PS3 games including MW3 and LA Noire. Saying that the slim PS3 is more powerful than the fat PS3 is simply false, because both types of consoles have exactly the same power; it's just that thanks to technological progress, we can now manufacture the same components in a smaller size.

Absolutely all the games work on my fat too. I replaced the 60GB disk with a 250GB one and all the games fit, Mw3, Red Dead Redemption, Black Ops 2, and even Sleeping Dogs, so stop saying nonsense! It's purely a matter of aesthetics; I completely agree with Dante.

Yes, Yannkee, we really need to give it a makeover now if we plan to get these latest games. It's also the season for the best games. The cleaning is very effective. Taking it apart is even better for dusting. I sometimes find cobwebs in the Fat.

When applying new thermal paste, it really needs to be the minimum possible, even, and spread over the entire processor; you can't just put a cross or a few grains of rice.

I still have 2 fats left, a 60 GB, and a 40 GB (which had its first YLOD in July), how I cherish them!!! Do you think it's worth it for €100 on Le Bon Coin? A guy is selling a 60GB, never broken down, with 4 controllers and 3 PS Move controllers? It may seem like a stupid question, but some might advise me against it.

At this price, it's worth it; people have a hard time getting rid of PsMove controllers. Make sure it works well. You can check if the warranty sticker is still intact.

If it has never been opened, you can make it as good as new. If worst comes to worst with the Blu-ray player, we need to ensure that it's only that; a second-hand drive costs €20, a complete player €35 (at least that's my resale price).
