Hello,

Some time ago, my PS3 FAT (40GB model) experienced a YLOD...
The hard drive it contained had a capacity of 500GB because I had changed it a little earlier.

Today, I am tempted to buy the new PS3 Super Slim. But I don't know if I can put my old PS3 FAT hard drive in it...

So here is my question: Can a PS3 FAT hard drive work properly on a PS3 Super Slim?

I hope you can help me please, and I thank you in advance for your answers.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 23.0.1271.64

so yes, it works (40GB HDD --> on ultraslim 12GB)

you need to remove the HDD from the fat and its drawer, screw it into the new drawer for ultraslim (10€) and insert it into the ultraslim.

The Play detects the HDD on startup and asks if you want to use the new HDD instead of the 12GB flash.

click ok

It erases the data that was on the 40GB
But it retrieves the data stored on the 12GB flash and puts it on the new HDD.

I did the same, but the PS3 doesn't detect it on startup! Please help me!

Je have a PS3 slim and a PS3 ultra slim; can I put the internal hard drive from the slim into the ultra slim without deleting the data that was on the slim? Please help me as soon as possible.

I have the same problem but the opposite: I want to put an ultra slim disc on a slim disc.
