PS3 slim or PS3 ultra slim? Solved

Hello,  For Christmas, I'm thinking of buying a PS3, but I don't know which one to get, the PS3 Slim or the PS3 Ultra Slim? Can you advise me, thanks.

I recommend a Slim because the Ultra Slim has a CD drive like the PS2, so there's more risk of scratching your CDs. After that, it's up to you :) I've had my Slim for 4 years now and I've never had a problem.

The ultra slim currently offers the best value for money thanks to the hard drive size (500GB) and the games included in the end-of-year bundles.

An additional 200GB is really very useful; you'll see it fills up very quickly.

I was just about to buy the ultra slim today, but I think I'll get a slim instead, because I have a fat and I'm on my 3rd or 4th YLOD, my brothers have a slim and they've never had any problems with it!

So what did you get then? Because I got the Slim 320GB and I find it heats up the room quite a bit, and with the high temperatures right now, it's not great.

I recommend the slim 320 GB because I had an ultra slim and I bought it in December 2012 and it lasted until October 2015. Then I bought a slim 320 GB in November 2015 and so far it has held up well. I find that an ultra slim is fragile because it's very thin while a slim is sturdy. I hope I helped you.
