My PS3 doesn't detect my DualShock 3 controller.

Hello,

Since this morning, my PS3 does not recognize my DualShock 3 controller (the 4 lights are flashing).
So I tried to put a toothpick in the reset button but to no avail. I then took a USB cable, plugged it into my PS3 and my controller, and that worked, but when I unplug the controller from the cable, the 4 lights start flashing again.

I would like my controller to work wirelessly, so can you help me?

I think it's because it's not charged... plug it in for about 2 hours and then unplug it; if it still doesn't work, it might have a problem with the Bluetooth.

Nothing to do, I'm having the same issue. This is the second time it's happened to me, plus it's a brand new controller that's barely 2 months old. Ugh!

Press the reset button on the back of the controller, it will work.

I charged it like you told me but it didn't work

But it can't be a Bluetooth issue because I have a Bluetooth earpiece that works from a distance and it works.
So I don't know what it is. :-\

It must be a Bluetooth problem with the controller => it probably no longer sends data to your PS3... do you have a second controller? Does it work?

I have the same problem with my PS3. I was told that I need to take it to customer service.

Clicking a second time reassigns the controller.

Under the right joystick of the top screw, there is a reset button; use a toothpick to press it, then reconnect your controller, and it should recognize it normally. It should work again.

You take the controller's charging cable and plug it into your computer. You download the "sixaxis controller" app, it will load and they will give you the code for your controller. You write it in the search bar and it should reconnect your controller to your PS3.

A search bar appears automatically after launching the app.
