Hello everyone,
I'm looking for a keyboard brand where the letters are embedded in the keys and do not wear off during text processing usage.
Does this type of keyboard with embedded letters in each key exist? If yes, which keyboard brand?
Thank you for your reply.
Best regards,

Configuration: Windows Vista / Internet Explorer 7.0

Hello,
I know that the keyboards of certain laptop brands like Toshiba are coated, which prevents the letters from fading over time.
I believe such keyboards must also exist for desktop computers. I will do some research online.

Hello Neliel
Thank you for your kindness, please keep me updated on your research as I’m not very savvy on the internet.

Neliel,
I went to Darty and spotted this type of keyboard:

Can you tell me if this type of keyboard has non-erasing keys?
Thank you for your help.

Try to also look for keyboards that have backlit characters on the keys because those have no chance of the characters fading away...
However, they are a bit more expensive:
https://www.amazon.fr/Logitech-Illuminated-Keyboard-%C3%A9clair%C3%A9es-PerfectStroke/dp/B001FGGXPO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=computers&qid=1283929410&sr=8-3 (€70)
This is an example; there are probably cheaper ones... Otherwise, glossy ones are hard to find because the images of the keyboards don't show if they are glossy or not.
Check in stores; glossy key keyboards are shiny.

That's false, it's a painting and the letters are the areas that have been 'lightened'.
I paid a lot for this keyboard and it wears off even faster. Luckily, the warranty worked. I was able to get a refund and ultimately this model of Logitech backlit keyboard has been withdrawn from sale by Rue Du Commerce. Seems like I wasn't the only one to complain.
Note. The policy of retail sites is to systematically replace keyboards whose characters fade. But since it can sometimes be very costly for them, for keyboards priced over €30 or €40, they simply withdraw the product.
My advice for simple keyboards is to prefer buying 10 keyboards at €6 rather than one keyboard at €60. Too bad for the manufacturers who are not Asian. They just have to make keyboards with non-fading keys.

Hard to say... Here, the whole button lights up while in the one I saw, it's only the character... however, this one is very expensive for a keyboard.
The best would be to seek advice from a computer shop or an electronics seller in a hypermarket. On the internet, it's not guaranteed.
I did some research using "indelible character" as a basis, but the result is not very... conclusive.
I will continue my research on my side.

Hello,
I finally found the solution. Every year, I apply a bit of clear nail polish on the keys.
And the keys stay pristine.

Hello,
I'm revisiting my choice; I've realized over time that the lacquer was breaking down and gunking up my keyboard. So that solution should not be considered (I only gained a month or two).
Now I'm looking towards packs of stickers featuring alphanumeric characters. I'm still searching for this type of supply. I have about half a dozen keyboards waiting for this miracle solution in my cupboards.
In the meantime, I've found a solution: I'm wrapping my keyboard in a very thin food membrane. It's absolutely brilliant :)

In any case, not the Cherry brand keyboards
I've completely lost the S and the N (100%)
I've almost lost the L, the E, and the C (less than 50% remaining)
and I am in the process of losing the A, the X, and the M
(but hey, I don't mind, on the contrary)
Otherwise, you still have the 'Das Keyboard' which doesn't have any key fading issues ^^ http://www.fahad.com/pics/das_keyboard_lrg.jpg
