Do you need a special plan for the iPhone?

Hello,
I would like to buy the iPhone (sold without a subscription), but I have been told that a special plan is required. However, I only have a subscription at 19.90/month that I cannot cancel right away. So, would my plan still work? Or if I can't get the iPhone 3G or 3GS, could I get the iPhone 1 instead?

Best regards

Yes, a regular plan will work too
But you won't be able to connect in 3G (you'll have to pay) you'll connect via wifi at home.

I had a plan for €19.90 also from Free with a BlackBerry Torch and when I got an iPhone my plan didn't change and it works very well, even 3G.

So if I take any iPhone and disable 3G, it will be fine?

Yes, in any case, it works for me.

And if I have unlimited internet in my plan (SFR plan costing around forty euros per month), could I use 3G? I'm in the same situation; I'm going to be given an iPhone 3GS and I was wondering the same thing ^^

Yes! I have since changed my plan (Illymithics 5 webphone with SFR with unlimited internet TV etc...) and I can use my iPhone without any problem.
