Trombi subscription

Hello, I subscribed for 3 months to the premium service of trombi. These 3 months ended on 03/21/2010, and they are asking me for a payment of 12 euros for the next 3 months (because they couldn’t charge my credit card directly) while threatening me with their collection service if I don’t pay. I didn’t know that the renewal was automatic; I didn’t see it anywhere when I signed up. Since then, I have unsubscribed, but do I have to pay for the 3 months they are asking for? (They don’t have my exact address, just my maiden name, my date of birth, and my email) What exact recourse do they have?

Hello, you need to click at the bottom right on your purchase history and follow the steps for cancellation.

Hello,

I'm in the same situation except that I paid by card and they took it directly... I had taken a three-month subscription and probably didn't notice the box pre-checked by them saying "automatic renewal."
This is forced selling and dishonesty poorly disguised!
Spread the word!

I'm in the same situation! When I signed up for a premium account a year ago (which I paid for a year), I didn’t see that the subscription would automatically renew (strange...) and they just sent me a second email asking me to pay 23.50 euros and threatening to send my account to a collection agency if I don't pay!! It's outrageous! Of course, I won't pay....

Hello,
I am in the same situation as you. What's the status now? Did you have to pay?
I find it outrageous how aggressively they resubscribe people.
Thank you for your reply.

No, I haven't paid, and I haven't heard from them since their last email to which I responded (in April) that I would contact a legal advisor if they continued to send me this kind of threat (which I will definitely do!) because I have not signed anything regarding the renewal of my subscription and that this renewal is forced and well-hidden!

I also took the opportunity to ask them to immediately delete my account from their site, which I will not be returning to, and they did so right away because I received a confirmation email.
It is true that their way of re-subscribing people is outrageous!
A site to avoid...

I am, like you, a victim of this site, which, under the pretext that I agreed to an automatic renewal payment, used my Paypal password. However, I have neither a contract nor authorized automatic card payments. I have canceled, but I am being asked for the amount of 24 euros, and I am getting in touch with the fraud department.

Have you read the terms and conditions of sale and use? Really...

You need to know what you're buying/what you're subscribing to and under what conditions... you haven't read them? Too bad for you :)

Why is the clear mention: Do not renew: click here... nowhere to be found?
If not out of dishonesty? I find your point of view cynical!

Hello
Same case: one-year subscription... that suddenly we discover renews automatically. And you can't find a specific place to indicate that you do not wish to renew the following year. I'm out 24 euros!
One of you pointed out that the terms need to be read, but forgets to mention that in case of a desire to unsubscribe, the place to do so is... well hidden!

I am so furious that I am sending a letter to a consumer association. They are indeed small amounts, but they weigh heavily on a budget, and anyway, it's not Trombi that decides what I want to do next year.

PS: consumer associations like Que Choisir or 60 Millions de Consommateurs, but there are others in your area, take the time to handle all these disputes. Here we share our experiences, but we don't take action, and the next ones will get trapped in turn. Do not hesitate, small streams make great rivers.

I think the request is simple.
There should be a message like: your subscription is expiring on... it will automatically renew according to our terms. If you wish to end your subscription, click here (or email us at the following address, etc...)

Thank you for reading, it relieves a bit.

Hello
several years later the problem is still the same
I was notified of the renewal date the day after the deadline and I immediately canceled but they are demanding 1 year of subscription!
luckily, it wasn’t charged because my credit card was renewed at the beginning of the year
I expect a large number of threatening emails or letters
what surprises me is that the problem has existed since at least 2008 according to my research and nothing has changed

are there any more recent testimonials?
thank you

Hello

yeah same here
I wanted to look it up online and bam this forum :)

my dad complained about a renewal on trombi that said to pay €36 (the more it goes, the less people there are, the more expensive it gets maybe...). The problem: he hasn't used it in over a year, but it's an automatic renewal! Luckily, the card has been renewed :)

we'll wait for these harmless emails and then delete them... In the meantime, I’m deleting his account...
this site contributes absolutely nothing! just another hole in the wallet!!

Hello everyone,

I too have just fallen victim to an automatic renewal by Trombi. They use the Châtel Law without respecting its spirit since they must - according to this Law - inform about an automatic renewal, which they do not do, can obviously prove nothing but still renew the Premium subscription at 24 euros. Since the amount is low, they risk nothing... except a Class Action that would allow the thousands of deceived customers to take legal action against them! In the meantime... YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST AVOID TROMBI WHICH IS NOTHING BUT A SHAM!
