Basically, Copains d'avant is free, while Trombi charges if you want the same features as Copains d'avant. Moreover, the "validation" process for profile pictures on Trombi is quite strict. I wanted to upload a photo of me holding my granddaughter --> it was rejected by the censorship committee "for the seriousness of the site, there can only be one person in the photo..... In short, for a feeling of freedom, go for Copains d'avant; for those who prefer a cage, there’s Trombi.

And the paid version isn't great either. You can't even organize your photos, and when you view someone's profile, that person is immediately notified. There's nothing to do on this site, just twiddle your thumbs.
