Hello everyone,
I have had a new PC for a week now.
However, I still haven't unboxed it as I want to be very careful with the first use I'll have with it.
Indeed, I understand that in order to achieve maximum battery life, certain points must be respected that I am not familiar with.
I often come across two opinions, namely:
1) -Turn on the PC, wait for it to discharge, then do a charge/discharge cycle without using it.
2) -Turn on the PC without waiting for it to discharge in order to charge it completely...
There is thus a slight discomfort between these two opinions; I don’t want to take any risks and therefore seek your advice, tips, and experiences.
I didn't think to ask the seller, and at the same time, I can't rely on their advice because, as you know, what they're interested in are the future purchases I'll make, such as a new PC battery...
Also, in the manual provided, there is nothing written on it that could help me.
You will find the details of my new PC at this link,
it is an ASUS:

PS: topic placed in its appropriate section.
I look forward to hearing from you, and thank you in advance!

I confirm for Erwan that it is recommended to perform a full charge before using the device, as this is necessary to initialize energy management.
Regarding the memory effect, we no longer discuss this for Li-ion batteries; this type of battery is currently the most used in laptops and greatly improves autonomy. However, on the other hand, regardless of usage, performance declines rapidly after 2 to 3 years.
This is not like the Wonder Battery; batteries wear out even if they are not used.

I have taken into account that whether or not the battery is used, it will lose capacity regardless. Therefore, using it well during the initial moments is important to me.
As for the manual, except for the part saying "plug in the battery charger before turning on the PC," I have really looked hard and there is nothing more specific; to fill that page, they even included diagrams to show how to use the cable...
So for you, Flag...Web...Erwan...Tribun, should I let it charge then discharge, or let it discharge first?
Any other opinions?
For the settings, you need to go to power options.
