Think a little, it's pretty logical! Otherwise, we could install it on as many XBOX360s as we want with a DVD and no DVDs would be sold anymore.

Yes, but if you think about it, there's no point in installing it if you need the CD, and besides, with the PS3, you don't need the CD.

Think about it, if we can do it, there's a reason! (less noise, less heat...)

    I'm sorry, I have a PS3... and without the Blue-Ray, I can't play it...
If the game installs on the console, it is absolutely not with the intention of playing it without the disc but to reduce disc access times in order to:

1 - Decrease loading times (the same system exists on the PSP slim)
2 - Limit the use of the drive to prevent premature wear.

The concept is not new; in fact, it's the same as on PC... You install games on a PC, but that doesn't mean you can play them without the disc.

On PC, you can play it without the CD; I have Bully, and once installed, it works without the CD. Thanks, we'll stop here.

Most games need the disc to start. Tomb Raider Underworld, Bioshock, Mirror's Edge, Rainbow 6 Vegas 2... some even have a double protection called StarForce...

No need with Steam ex COD6 BioShock.

Steam is an exception because it uses the Internet to function and therefore has a different verification system. So let me rephrase that...
On any console not connected to the Internet (like my PS3), you can't play without the disc.

Yes... but you need a Steam account and Internet... after being an offline player, I'm not familiar with Steam and I've never tried to connect my PS3 to the Internet.
