Hello,
While searching for a puppy in our area, we responded to this ad:
"Adorable Golden Retriever Puppies €150

Adorable L.O.F Golden Retriever puppies, 4 months old, available immediately. From a litter of 8 puppies, 2 are still available. Each puppy is sold tattooed (microchipped), vaccinated and dewormed with a health certificate issued by a veterinarian. The parents are gentle and affectionate L.O.F Golden Retrievers. They are raised in a family environment with children and other animals."
And here are the emails we received:
"Good evening
I have received your message.
I want to let you know that I am no longer selling my puppies, but I am giving them away in exchange for good care due to my urgent trip to Africa.
I brought my family and my puppies here to Africa for my work assignment and to visit the country where the climate is not suitable for puppies. That is why I am giving my puppies away out of love to allow them to live better outside of here. My puppies are treated like princes of the family; they are microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, with their health records up to date certified by the veterinarian. Also, please promise me that you will give me updates and photos upon reception.
They are very clean and gentle with children, living in harmony with other dogs and cats, even hamsters.!!!!!!
So I want them to have a good owner who can give them lots of love and treat them as they should; that is all I ask. If you are interested in taking them, please provide me with your full home address:

so that I can send them to the transportation company that will take care of bringing them to your home safely and in good conditions.

Our first response was as follows:

We would like to know if they are males or females, as well as their age. Would it be possible to have some photos?
Furthermore, do you know the cost of transportation fees, so we can get an idea?
I am attaching a photo of our pup!

Then, this response seemed suspicious to me and prompted me to do some research:
"Good evening
The transportation fees are €112 by postal money order; there is one male and one female, they are 4 months old, and I will hand them over to a transportation agency that will deliver to your home. I do not trust individual transporters; agencies are more reliable, and they always take the transportation fees before delivering to you. So if this suits you, please send me your address for delivery. Here are the photos

We would like a pet in a family setting, we are not breeders (my fiancé is aiming for an accounting job, while I have an artistic profession that allows me a lot of free time).
We do not have other pets and do not wish for any new members in our little family.
We live in the outskirts of Bordeaux, with spaces and parks for this little one.
We are ready to welcome the puppy next week, that would be ideal!

I had the same experience, I stopped everything before making a mistake, then I went online, the transporters cost more than 200 euros, so you really have to be careful. To find out if I was being scammed, I asked for the microchip number of the puppy, I called the central canine society, and of course, the puppy didn't exist... so no money lost but I was pretty scared at the time, it really pissed me off, assholes who take advantage of others like that, it’s just awful. Now, I think that going through a breeder, sure it’s expensive but at least you know what you're going to get.
