how can we open a .xsd file?

An XSD file is an XML file
a simple editor is enough to view its content (notepad)

I'm a bit lost with these "open with..." options after a reinstallation of Windows 10 following a malware attack, online, which presents itself as a Microsoft support to help us deal with it; €399 if you pay, and in the meantime, all services are blocked.

You can open it with Pattern Maker Viewer (version 4.04) downloadable from http://www.hobbyware.com/pm_downloads.htm ;)
