Error: 0xc18a0206 HP printer C5180

Hello,
For the end of year celebrations, I turned off my HP C5180 printer because I was away for fifteen days. When I returned, I wanted to make a photocopy with my printer. A message appeared:
Ink system error number 0xc18a0206.
I checked my ink cartridges using my printer, which indicated the ink level still available in each cartridge.
I replaced all my used cartridges with new ones, and the problem still persists.
I followed the advice provided on this forum by pressing "OK" and "Help" simultaneously, then unplugged the 220V power cable from the printer and the cable connecting the computer to the printer, then released the two buttons, but the problem still persists.
If anyone has encountered the same problem as me, I would be grateful if you could kindly share your solution to resolve my issue.
Looking forward to hearing from you, I wish you all the best for the new year 2010.

Best regards, Joseph.
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

I managed to do it as follows:

- Remove all the cartridges.
- Disconnect the power
- Reconnect the power by pressing Help (?) and (Ok) simultaneously
there is a complete reset (reset language, etc. ...
- Reinsert the cartridges as prompted by the system

Hello, I have exactly the same problem as you, I haven't used my printer for a year, and now I wanted to plug it back in and, of course, the cartridges were expired, so I bought new ones. All the levels are fine, but now there is this ink system error message, err Oxc18a0206!!!! Help!!!!!!!!!! Please!! I did exactly what you recommended, but without success! Thank you in advance.

I just had the same breakdown as you on the same printer (HP C5180) with the same error message (0xc18a0206) when trying to make a copy upon my return from vacation. I haven't been able to fix it. If you found a way to troubleshoot your printer, could you please share it with me? Thank you in advance.

I have exactly the same problem.
I've tried various solutions such as replacing all my ink cartridges. The full reset. Removing the cartridges + turning off for 60 seconds and then turning it back on and reinserting the cartridges. Nothing works. I'm starting to despair over a printer that costs a lot (C6180) and has ultimately served me very little.

I tried to contact HP through the online technical support. But the serial number doesn't work on the site. I called the service by phone, which is already billed at 12 cents per minute, and now you have to pay €19 for online assistance unless you want to perform an online diagnosis. The address they provide doesn't exist www.hp.com/fr/diagnostique.
I attempted to file a complaint to explain my serial number and diagnostic site issue. But I was thrown out because I don't have a serial number. I called the complaints service which costs 34 cents per minute, only to ultimately hear that the number has changed.

Ugh what a mess... :(

You need to press Help + OK at the same time just before reconnecting (or turning on) the printer and hold down (both buttons at the same time) until the printer turns off by itself. Then stop pressing and turn it on normally, and it will print "reset" and ask you for the language. Only when the printer says that the cartridges are missing should you put them back in.
