G200 Neo Driver Issues (alerteGPS) Solved

Question

Hello,
I wanted to update my radar detector (alertGPS G200 Neo).
I went to the manufacturer's website, downloaded the USB drivers and the software for my detector, but when I connect my detector to my PC, it doesn't recognize it.
It detects new hardware but cannot find the corresponding drivers.
I searched everywhere, on the CD, on the internet.
My operating system is Vista; I've tried everything, even the XP drivers, just in case.
If anyone has had the same problem and can help me.

So let’s try to proceed in order.

1°. Download the USB driver, EVEN for Win7!!!
http://www.alertegps.com/down2/AlerteGPS-Drivers-7.zip

It's a .zip, so you'll need to extract it (unzip, winrar, etc...), be careful to note where your files will end up ^^, usually in a folder called "AlerteGPS-Drivers-7". You can either double-click on the "Setup", or do it manually by going to the folder corresponding to your OS!
Good USB driver, all set.

2°. The software for the G200 Neo! As Fred mentioned just above, you need to take the one for V2. Stop reading and download this ;) :
http://www.alertegps.com/down2/G200V2_installation.exe

It's an .exe so double-click it, and install. For those with Seven (Win7), you might see a message asking you to confirm that the software was installed correctly.

3°. Start AlerteGPS G200. There should be a small Download (live update) corresponding to the software update. Then you’ll see a nice picture of what looks more like a G200, but well...
There are two tabs available, "Connection" and "Reset".
You can see at the top of the window that the software version is indicated, as well as: [USB: X]
As indicated, connect your cable first to the computer, then to your device. The indication will change: [USB: OK] and three other tabs will appear!

4°. The update for your G200 Neo. Click on the update tab and... click on update at the bottom!!! ;)
No need to stress, the software manages the latest updates on its own. If all squares are green (DB, Voice, and FW), then you are on the latest versions.

There you go, I tried to be as complete as possible, just a reminder, THIS INSTALLATION IS VALID FOR A G200 NEO V1!!!

I am in the same situation as you, with my G200 Neo radar detector.
The device is not recognized when connected to a USB port.

I had the same issue as you with my G200 Neo running Vista and I found the solution!
In fact, I realized that on the AlerteGPS website there are two versions for the G200!
The versions are mixed up!
What I mean is that those who have the G200 must choose the G200 standard model version and those who have the G200 Neo must choose the G200 V2 model version!
Even if the label indicates the opposite on the alert device! For me, I scratched my head for two days before finding the solution and it's really simple!

Hello Fred,
Thank you for your post, but I just tried again and the result is the same. When I connect the G200néo to my PC via USB, it is not detected and the message remains "device not connected."
Which version did you download, and did you download the drivers available on the website?

RfJul's post helped me a lot! I confirm that the procedure mentioned works perfectly.

However, you have to start everything over, especially on XP:
uninstall the driver
uninstall the software
restart the computer

and then reinstall in order, driver, software, etc... and everything works well!

Hello,

I followed RfJul's advice, which allowed me to carry out what I believe is a complete update; however, I did not see the brown squares turn green, confirming that the warning system was up to date.

I then wanted to try again, but the injections did not work, even though I was using the same USB port.

Is there anyone who could give me an explanation???

The connection cable to the PC may have an issue. For my part, with a Garmin, I simply changed the cable, and since then I haven't had any problems. See you later!

Good evening, you need to go on Google and then you will be directed to kelcoko. I'm not sure about the spelling following the label behind, purple or black. You need to configure your GPS, the G200 Neo, with the last 6 serial numbers; it's the G200Neo V2 and not like I did with the V1. You download the software and the drivers. Remember to ask for the compliance center paper, as it may be requested during inspections. It's in PDF format. Therefore, you need to open an account for a minimum of one month; you need a username or an email for the confirmation that you will receive by email. Then, from that email, you can log into the system you want. On Vista, especially avoid repairing the software because at that moment, Vista shuts down and restarts. Finally, I subscribed Vista for the software, so G200Neo V2. If you still have difficulties, most sellers have a hotline. You also need to choose the language during the process. The link provided by commentçàmarche is good; I don't know its name now by searching in the results. That's it, I hope you manage it. Good luck.

It's strange to see that nobody is saying that the G200 recharge is now chargeable; it's shameful because you are being offered to buy another G200 without any explanation, whereas when we purchased it, the recharge was free. Can someone reply to me if you have another solution, thank you.

I went to the Wikango website. I registered. Clicked on compliance, selected the device in the photo, downloaded the version according to the color of the sticker on the back of the device. Downloaded the serial number of the certificate of compliance after registration. All for free.
Update completed on 05/05/2012 (120505). Voice November 2011...
