Hello everyone,
The charger for my ASUS laptop is heating up a lot; is this critical?
Also, I have a second DELL laptop that shuts down by itself, and I noticed last time that the bottom (near the fan position) was getting very hot.
What can I do??

Hello,
Personally, I have an Acer Aspire that has always overheated!
The charger is regularly very hot, and as for the laptop, let's not even talk about it.
Generally, it’s warm, but I can place my hand on it; however, there are times when it gets so hot that I can’t keep my hand on it...
But well, it has always done this to me, and this isn't the first time I’ve seen it!
On the other hand, my Asus Eee PC doesn’t overheat at all! (except when it’s on the duvet ^^)

First, it heats your legs and in the long term it is not recommended for health (continuous local warming); then because the laptop is poorly cooled and it risks burning or overheating, which significantly reduces the lifespan of your components.
The ideal is therefore a flat and rigid support; this has actually created a market :-) but you can very well put it on a simple breakfast tray or a wooden board, it's cheaper and just as effective.

Advice: Be PRECISE and COMPLETE in the description of the problem to get a response :-)
Read the charter; it can help you understand "how it works."
Once (before the comic book), I had to dismantle this laptop because the fan was jittering in place (it couldn't manage to expel the air) it was horror! (and it's true that the charger was heating up a lot too!!)
>You're absolutely right about the air intake underneath the laptop! It's not smart! But they're all almost equipped like that...
Asus eepc under the blanket ;) > just be careful you might get a lot of fabric particles that will clog your fans...
