Hello,
I just bought an Asus X7010 laptop running Windows 7 (built-in WIFI) and when I tried to set up my Livebox (Wifi) by entering my WEP key, I received a connection issue message.
I would like to point out that when I started the computer, the wifi instantly detected my Livebox and I pressed the flashing button on the modem.
Thank you for your help!!!

I'm so happy, after rummaging here and there, I finally have my answer!!! You just need to connect via the red cord (ethernet) and configure your live box http://192.168.1.1 (enter admin for the username and password), then go to the "wireless network" tab, check that the network is enabled. Then click on new MAC address (at the bottom) and enter the numbers from your network card (you can find them by typing ipconfig/all in command prompt. The network card is the wireless one) apply and, as if by magic, the wireless connection works. YAY!!!!
Good evening,
I have a Livebox myself and Seven on multiple PCs and I haven't had any problems with my machines on Wi-Fi so far, but I haven't done any installation from Orange and the best thing is to just enter that WEP key and enjoy the web without their internet manager =)

According to this forum and others, more than 2 years after the problems began with Win 7 / 64 bits, Orange still hasn't been able to provide us with their compatible software. I have just ordered a new PC; I understood from my reading that the software is not necessary (at least as long as you don't have to install the box), but it is still symptomatic of their seriousness. In the same vein, I waited over 2 years for my LiveBox (Sagem) to be set to the correct time...
According to them, only 1% of people have a 64-bit
False, false, totally false, I almost want to say liar ^^'
Now that the technician has made you disable the WEP key (which is already easy to crack), everyone can access your connection (within the range of the livebox) and can surf the web for free using your FT subscription and even download illegally, and with the Hadopi law coming, you could even get sanctioned for something you didn't do.
Really smart, those FT technicians...

Hello
I have a bit of the same problem; I just bought a Toshiba L450D-119 laptop, and when I turned it on for the first time, it detected all the wireless networks, including my Livebox. But when I entered the WEP key, it never accepted it.
Furthermore, now that the laptop is set up, I can't even find where in the network settings I can re-enter the WEP key. When I click on my Livebox, it tries to connect directly.
If anyone has a solution
Best regards
ludod

As Sebbreizh said, you need to synchronize the Livebox
Otherwise, if you can't do it, it might be that your Livebox is not properly configured for Wi-Fi
In your browser's address bar, type 192.168.1.1, then go to the configuration
Before that, it will ask you for the password
User admin, and if you haven't changed it, the password is also admin
Configuration >> advanced >> wireless >>
Wireless
Maximum association time (minutes) 11
Check Security WEP only
Easy WiFi Setup Enabled
And submit
Then reconnect to your Wi-Fi and don't forget the synchronization
There you go, it should work

Hello everyone
Sometimes it's better to use your network connection and configure your IPs yourself.
For example: knowing that for your Livebox you must enter 192.168.1.1 to access the configuration, we will proceed as follows.
The first PC, which is directly connected via the Ethernet cable, will be given IP 192.168.1.2
The second one will be 192.168.1.3 and so on. I currently have 3 PCs and everything works perfectly without going through the Orange software.
To do this, go to the Control Panel
For Windows seven, go to Local Area Network Connection properties. Click on it and a window will appear.
Click on Properties and another window will open
Network Management. Lower down in this same window, you have Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4), select it and click on Properties.
A general window opens
Check "Use the following IP address": for the first PC
IP Address: 192.168.1.2 for the first PC
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1 <<address of your Livebox configuration
Then check "Use the following DNS server address":
Preferred DNS server: 192.168.1.1 as well
Click OK
Do the same on the next PC but for IP Address use 192.168.1.3 and so on…

Hello,
I won't be of much help as I don't have Seven

If you have a Livebox, it might be coming from Orange:
Try installing this: https://assistance.orange.fr/livebox-modem/toutes-les-livebox-et-modems/installer-et-utiliser/connecter-et-associer-votre-materiel?dub=1
Otherwise, check that your network card and/or motherboard drivers are up to date... the BIOS too (it fixes quite a few issues like this :)).

I also have problems with Windows 7 and Livebox.
After changing from Windows XP to Windows 7, I can't connect to the internet.
I consulted the forums and downloaded the LB v1.5 software from the ORANGE website on the old computer, then as explained by Orange, using a USB key, I tried to install it on Windows 7 and there it was impossible.
In fact, you need to install the LB v1.5 software on Windows XP to reset the Livebox, and then connect the Ethernet cable to the Windows 7 PC, and it worked, which means in this case, you need to have 2 computers...

Unfortunately, it won't be anytime soon =s they haven't even released the one for Vista. Personally, I don't use their software and I'm on 64-bit. I just plugged in my Wi-Fi PCI card and installed its drivers, then I choose my box where I want to connect, I sync it and enter the WPA2 key (Livebox 2.0) WEP (Livebox 1.5 Sagem and Inventel)

After encountering the same issue: unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network with a livebox on Windows 7 64-bit system, despite entering the WEP key.
I drew inspiration from the responses in this thread, that is to say:
1 I connected via Ethernet with the red cable provided
2 Enter the livebox administration at 192.168.1.1
3 In the Wi-Fi section, disable MAC control at the bottom of the menu.
4 And everything works fine afterwards on Wi-Fi.

Merci d'avance

Hello, I have a problem. I have a Sevent on a laptop, it detects my Livebox. I enter the WEP key, I wait a bit, and it says the connection attempt failed.
It does this to me every time. What should I do???

Hello,
I also bought a laptop with Windows 7 and I wanted to set up my Livebox wirelessly.
It works very well with the cable, but I get an error message when I try to enter my key wirelessly!!
My Livebox works perfectly in Wi-Fi with my other laptop running Vista!
Is this normal? Do I just need to wait for Orange to be compatible with Windows 7?
Thank you for answering this novice that I am in terms of computer configuration.

I have a big problem too, I bought a PC this afternoon, it's running Windows 7 64-bit and I have a Thomson Wi-Fi dongle, impossible to connect!
apparently they haven't released the 64-bit version but only for 32-bit! it's really frustrating! I don't know what to do except buy a 64-bit compatible dongle...
When I plug in my Wi-Fi dongle, the PC immediately tells me "the device driver could not be installed" so it's not even recognized.. what should I do???
I used to be on XP with my UR054G Inventel dongle and everything worked fine... what a mess this Windows 7 is! aside from buying a new dongle, is there any solution???

The simplest way is really not to use the Orange CD and to install it via 7 "just" with the WEP key. Especially for the 64-bit versions
However, if this can help others who are using this method (W7 config), I ran into an issue:
- impossible to connect via WiFi to the box from one day to the next :(
=> check that Windows 7 hasn't somehow forced a static IP that is outside your local network (like 192.168.0.x when it's 192.168.1.x at your place). Set it to dynamic, or better if you're not traveling set it to static on your network
Well, I have plenty of other things to blame Orange for but that's not the point here

I just called Orange and according to them, only 1% of people have a 64bit, so no version of the Livebox will be compatible. I don't know what to do anymore; I have the message OS not supported. I have a Sagem Livebox and I want to connect it via Wi-Fi. Has anyone succeeded?
Well, the problem is solved, my father got someone competent at Orange (yes, it exists 1 in 1000 but still)
and had to go on a computer already connected, go to the address 192.168.1.1
enter the passwords
remove the WEP key
then save, delete, restart, and save again, and miracle it works
the guy told my father "it's going to take 5 minutes," my dad was stunned, the technician said "pfff they never understand anything here"
anyway, thanks for the help, it's really cool
I'm really going to ask everything again to my father and will come back to post the details to help others!!!!

you have installed a fake driver!! can you fix itIf the key detects the router correctly, it normally doesn't come from the driver, but you never know...
It could be due to MAC filtering; to disable it, you need a machine connected via Ethernet, then access the Box panel (192.168.1.1 - admin;admin) and depending on the version of the box, go to the WiFi section, but the MAC filtering bug is only with the LiveboxX 2.0.
