TV issues with Windows 7 Media Center.

Problem solved for me. After following the instructions / reinstalling and restarting the services > unsuccessfully....I simply changed the connection settings of the Windows Media Center service for TV and FM reception. I checked "Local System Account" instead of "This account".

For me, the problem is resolved. Thanks for all your information.

Sorry for the memory delay. Right-click on the media center icon, then properties and enable the previous version. Just for the Windows 7 media center, the previous versions largely surpass and disrupt the media player market with or without hard drives and finally allow democratizing the HD media center.
I just downloaded the Microsoft Security Essentials antivirus; it will also disrupt the market.
It can be downloaded from Softpedia, which is the best site I found for downloading free software; I'm sure many of you know it.

Hello everyone, recently I had the same problem as you with the media center of Seven, with display and audio conflict and all that when I go to TV, but I managed to get out of it without restoration but I don't know exactly how because in fact I tried several small manipulations that seemed intuitively good to me. Here’s what I did:

1) I uninstalled my TV card with the drivers then I restarted my PC

2) I went to services.msc then I looked for "Windows Media Center Receiver Service" then I went to properties, in general I set it to automatic instead of manual, then in connection I changed to local system account, then I did the same for "Windows Media Center Scheduling Service". Then I restarted my PC again.

3) Next, I reinstalled my TV card with another restart.

4) Finally, I launched Windows Media Center, I didn’t click on TV but went directly to settings, configure TV, and there poof, like magic the configuration displayed normally whereas before it didn't want to, then I configured it like before with the channel search and everything and it worked.

Your response interests me because I installed 7 and I have no signal for certain channels.
I would like to know what your phrase "activating the restoration OF the previous version of the media center" means??

Excuse me, but do you necessarily have to buy a TV tuner to watch TV on Media Center?

Some clarifications:

- I followed the instructions in the error message ("in the Control Panel, click on System and Security, Administrative Tools, then double-click on Services") but I don't see how to restart the Windows Media Center services

- my tuner card, which has updated drivers, is a Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT

I did what you wrote, Windows Media Center Receiver Service and Windows Media Center Scheduler Service were not started and were set to manual.

I can set both to Automatic and successfully start the Windows Media Center Scheduler Service, but I cannot start the Windows Media Center Receiver Service; the following message appears:

"Windows failed to start the Windows Media Center Receiver Service on Local Computer.

Error 0x80070005: Access is denied."

Remote Procedure Call (RPC) is, however, started and set to automatic.

I get this in Event Properties:

"The Windows Media Center Receiver Service has stopped with the error:
%%-2147024891"

Is this what you wanted?

I did what you just told me but it doesn't change anything.

I think I'm going to reinstall 7 because this problem is really annoying me; I just hope it won't come back.

Good news! I just installed Seven on 03/08/09. I solved the problem simply by right-clicking and activating the restoration of the previous version of the Media Center. As a result, we still have the new version of the Media Center; except that the TNT tuner works, but more importantly, the big news is that the Media Center decodes HD TNT – IT'S GREAT with the Hauppauge WinTV HD model 360.

However, when I right-click on the Windows MCE icon in Windows 7 and click on Restore previous version, I have no previous version available.

PS: I have a clean Windows 7 (formatted, so no updates since Vista).
This problem is starting to annoy me; I even wrote to Leadtek support to see if a driver is available...
This Media Center is very well made, but I would still like to be able to see ALL the channels I receive.

I'm currently using Windows 7 RC, and I have a built-in TNT tuner (AverMedia M135-C).
When I launch Windows Media Center and try to configure my tuner to watch TV, it says that there is no tuner connected. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting it with a restart each time, but nothing works =(. This is really starting to annoy me since I just bought a new motherboard to connect it.
If anyone has a solution, I would be very happy to hear it.

But I can't find the driver on my PC, and on the avermedia.com website I can't find the driver for my model either.
Yes, I have connected an antenna to it.
I just have a small doubt, on my TV card there is a long white socket with nothing connected to it, is that normal?
