Hello,

I just installed Windows 7. I put in the installation CD for my Livebox, I go to "Computer" and removable storage devices and I double-click on my CD.

I then get the message: "Error the file chosen is not in the right directory."

If you can help me!!!

Thank you ;)
Configuration: Windows 7 Internet Explorer 8.0

Sure, but can you explain to me how to get an internet connection? Because your explanations aren't helping me. I used to set up the internet with the CD until now. So if we can do without it, can you explain how you do it?

Thank you in advance.

If you have upgraded from Vista to Seven, your drivers came along for the ride.
However, if you performed a full installation of Seven replacing another system, you need to reinstall your drivers.

I installed Windows 7. That's all. I thought the drivers were on the CD... So I'm still stuck without internet on 7. When I search for Windows 7 Livebox drivers on Google, I can't find anything. And my Livebox is connected with a cable.

Good evening,

why do you want to use the Orange CD? It’s useless. How do you want to connect, Wi-Fi, Ethernet,!!!

I want to connect via Ethernet and for Vista I did it the same way and it works: the installation CD, then double-click and the exe launches. Now I get this error message. Apparently, my CD is not designed for installation on Windows 7, which is an unsupported OS.
If anyone can help me!

Hello,

I confirm what exla wrote: THE ORANGE CD IS USELESS.
I have an Orange Livebox and I have never used this CD. And it works perfectly under Vista as well as under Seven.

Just connect an Ethernet cable between the Livebox and the computer.
Of course, I'm assuming that you have reinstalled your computer's drivers.

What is your computer (brand, type)?

Hi,

In my opinion, you're missing the drivers for your network card, so find them and install them.
Then plug in your Ethernet cable; I think your connection should come back.

Bye

I don't know if your issue comes from there, I also had a lot of trouble connecting with the Orange Livebox and W7 - Anyway, Orange has a free update CD, and without that, I couldn't connect. Good luck.

Hello everyone,

I apologize for responding so late.

My computer is an HP Pavilion, model a6541.fr, AMD Phenom Triple core processor 2.10GHz, and operating system: 64x.

My network card is an NVIDIA 10/100 Mbps Networking controller, and yes, I think the driver is not installed.

I downloaded one from the internet but it did not allow the card to be detected.

Otherwise, I will check with Orange to see if they can do something about the CD and the update.

Thank you for your help, I will follow your advice. I will keep you updated! I think it should work.

If I somehow still can't manage it, do you know where I could find a tutorial for upgrading from Vista to 7 since I wasn't able to do it? I therefore installed 7 directly which explains why my card is not being detected.

:) Thank you a thousand times for your responses. This forum is really great!

A tutorial for installing Windows Seven:
https://www.clubic.com/article-292098-1-windows-7-mise-a-jour-guide.html
PLEASE NOTE:
- That the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor BETA mentioned on this page "Windows 7: what configuration, which edition" (https://www.clubic.com/article-292098-2-windows-7-mise-a-jour-guide.html is now the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor," http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1b544e90-7659-4bd9-9e51-2497c146af15&displaylang=en

I repeat:
The Orange CD is useless.

If you have a Livebox, try installing this: https://assistance.orange.fr/livebox-modem/toutes-les-livebox-et-modems/installer-et-utiliser/connecter-et-associer-votre-materiel?dub=1

Otherwise, check that your network card and/or motherboard drivers are up to date ... also the BIOS (it fixes quite a few gaps like that :) ).

If after rebooting the box it still doesn’t work, try disabling/enabling your network card in the device manager (Start -> Right-click on Computer -> Properties)
Normally, everything should be back in order

Otherwise, check that your network card and/or motherboard drivers are up to date... the BIOS too (this resolves quite a few gaps like this :) ).

Good evening,

It's good that you did an offline scan.
But if you had done this offline scan on the right computer, the one equipped with Windows 7, it would have been better.
You did the scan on a computer equipped with Windows XP Home Edition!

I just tried with XP, I'm doing a complete reinstallation. And now I have the same issue. No internet. I can see that I'm missing my driver because when I put in the Orange CD, it tells me that no Ethernet card is detected.

I checked the Ethernet connection ports, they are directly connected to the motherboard, and when I install Vista first with the factory CDs, it works.
So if anyone has an idea on how I can find these famous drivers...

Hello Jojo29,

I did it on the right computer but with a different operating system because the problem is that I can't find the driver for my network card. It is UNTRACEABLE.

I reformatted my hard drive to install XP instead of Seven so that the Orange CD would work. This time I got the message that the Ethernet card was not detected.

When I put Vista with the original installation CDs, the card works. I don't know what to do.
