Windows 7 installation issue on Sony Vaio

Hello,

I bought a Sony Vaio (SVE1712) at Christmas with Windows 8 pre-installed.... I don't like this new OS at all, so I just installed Windows 7 on a new hard drive... Windows installed fine but there’s a problem: some drivers haven't been installed (SM bus controller, USB bus controller, network controller, Ethernet, simplified COM PCI, PCI, and an unknown device). I can't connect to the internet, so I can't update and I don't have a CD with the laptop...

Do you have a solution, please?

Thank you in advance for your help

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 23.0.1271.97

Hi, you said I installed Windows 7 on another hard drive, so on the old one, do you have the drivers?

    Hello,

On the manufacturer's site with another PC:

    http://www.sony-asia.com/support/download/521132?site=hp_en_TH_i

If no driver, follow this procedure:

Hello and thank you for your replies,

Yes, indeed I have my old hard drive that I just reconnected to copy the driver folder onto a USB stick, but I don't know if the drivers will be compatible with Windows 7 since they are from Windows 8... If it doesn't work, I will do what you linked, Scorpius.

It's reckless to want to install Windows 8 drivers on Windows 7, especially the graphics, ATA, and USB drivers. Well, that's just my opinion...
If I were you, I would take the opportunity to check the device manager and take note of the hardware ;-)

      re,

Here are the missing driver lines:

      PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E22&SUBSYS_90AC104D&REV_04
      ACPI\SNY5001
      PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E3A&SUBSYS_90AC104D&REV_04
      PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_90AC104D&REV_07
      PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0032&SUBSYS_E044105B&REV_01
      PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E31&SUBSYS_90AC104D&REV_04
      PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E22&SUBSYS_90AC104D&REV_04

The second one corresponds to the unknown device.

I hope this is what you wanted.

      Thank you for your help.

      Yes, that's perfect,
we have a Realtek network controller, an Atheros wireless, the rest is Intel
just missing one important piece of information for the direct links: Windows 7 32 or 64 bits?

Hello, if you have a Wi-Fi key with its drivers on a CD that comes with the purchase of some keys, you could download the drivers for the PC from the Wi-Fi key that will allow you to connect to the internet.
