Internet on SAMSUNG UE40B7020 TV Solved

Question

Hello, I recently bought a SAMSUNG LED slim TV Series 7, specifically the UE40B7020, which has Widgets, including a possible connection to a YAHOO account. I purchased a category 6 crossover RJ 45 cable that I connected to the LAN port of the television and to the PC 2 port of my Neuf box, but nothing happens. Normally, the Samsung documentation indicates that the IP address initializes automatically, but the Samsung documentation is frankly quite brief. Furthermore, the DVD provided with the television is not recognized by my PC and will not read it (ACER ASPIRE x3200), so I cannot use it for guidance. The USB key delivered with the television contains a tutorial that is really too "light." I searched everywhere on the INTERNET but could not find any information regarding the SAMSUNG site, nothing! PS: We are offered software everywhere to watch TV on our PC, but to view multimedia documents or internet programs, there... no proposals

Hi,
For my part, I bought a SAMSUNG LED TV UE40B7000.
I plugged my TV into the PC2 outlet of my Neufbox just like you did.
Then I did a manual setup.
In the menu, go to network and then choose manual setup.
Your TV asks you:
1/IP
2/subnet mask
3/gateway
4/DNS server
Retrieve this information on your PC (go to run, type "command" then "IPconfig/all")
Do a network test once you’ve entered the data, it should work normally.
It worked for me, but I have a conflict with my PC.
I think you need to modify one of the values to avoid the conflict. If anyone can help me?
My widgets are working.
I just need to create my Yahoo account to access other widgets and YouTube because right now it’s not working. I hope I’ve helped you.

You needed a straight cable. The crossover cable is for PC to PC.

Hello,
I have also been trying for 2 days to get internet on this TV but nothing works :(
I want to connect via RJ45 directly to my TV because I didn't buy the Samsung Wi-Fi dongle, but when I go to setup/network/auto config/ and start the connection test, it displays:
"the MAC address is not valid. Contact Samsung customer service." and when I enter the values manually, I get the same message.
I contacted Samsung who referred me to my ISP :)
I contacted my ISP (Orange) who referred me back to Samsung :) :)
So with this, I'm not ready to have internet on my TV
Otherwise, I updated the TV to the latest firmware but the problem persists.
For your information, I have a Livebox Mini, DHCP activated, and my yellow RJ45 port is disabled for the Orange TV.
I swapped the red and yellow cables but still nothing.
I also connected the TV directly to the red cable but still nothing.
A little help please because I don't know what to do anymore :(

I also have a 40B7020
DLNA works as well as the widgets for going on YouTube, the weather (I was able to choose my city) and an American news site.....
you need an IP address in your internal address range (e.g. 192.168.1.66 if your router is at 192.168.1.1) in the menu you can check the assigned IP address whether it is manual or DHCP.

DLNA works for me but it's not really practical (capable of viewing movies, photos and listening to MP3s but no fast forward or rewind in movies, no direct access to a specific scene after a break. (Samsung has done the bare minimum regarding DLNA capabilities)
The media server can be your PC or a NAS (hard drives), it works with the small program provided by Samsung. Personally, I run Twonkymedia server and I'm happy with it.

I also have an Internet issue with my new Samsung UE40C7700. The DLNA works, the network test passes, but I can't access the Internet or perform updates. For updates, it shows error 801 (time-out), unstable Internet connection, please contact your provider. However, the Internet connection is working very well. I changed the IP address as described above, but nothing changes...

Has anyone had the same problem and found a solution, please?

I have a Samsung LED and I've had a lot of problems, some have been resolved and others have not...
To start, you need to do the update, download it from the Samsung website, put it on a USB stick, and plug the stick directly into the TV; it doesn't work via the network.
With the update, many network issues are fixed.
However, I only have 2 widgets available, I am in Switzerland, can someone explain to me how to add a widget like Yahoo for example???

I have a LE40C750R2W TV. (3D ready, the best :p)
Except for internet@tv, which, like with you, doesn't work.
I am connected via an ethernet cable. I have a network test that works perfectly and a firmware update (3003) that went through directly via the TV (although at first, I also got the message "error 801 (time-out), unstable internet connection, please contact your operator." I did an initial update, the 3000 that day, via USB, downloaded from samsung.com), I can see my computer directly, even though it's connected via Wi-Fi, and I can stream movies/photos/videos that are on the PC.
As for the Yahoo widgets, I can't find them at all.
I also tried changing the IP manually, the DNS server too, on the TV and even on the router, but it doesn't change anything.......
On samsung.com, no information, and online, many of us have this problem, some are lucky to solve it, but a large majority, I feel, cannot...
Of course, when contacting Samsung: "please call the hotline at blah blah blah."
I think it might be a country issue: "this feature may not be available in certain countries" since I live in Tahiti (yes, we have TVs in Tahiti too! lol) and maybe it's part of those incompatible countries (by the way, what are the compatible countries? no info on that.)
But you too (in France) have this problem, in American forums, same... (I even found a Greek forum!)

You need to connect the TV to your Neuf box with a straight cable and not a crossover cable.
