Samsung TV MAC address

Question

Hello,I think something has changed regarding the MAC address of my Samsung TV. When I look on Freebox OS, my TV has a different MAC address than the one displayed on my TV. I therefore cannot access some of my apps because they tell me that the MAC address is not the same. Can you please clarify this for me? Thank you.Configuration: Windows / Chrome 100.0.4896.60

Hello,

One possible reason is the connection mode, Ethernet cable and WiFi. The MAC address corresponds, not to the TV itself, but to the connection device. Therefore, there is a WiFi MAC address and an Ethernet MAC address.

A MAC address doesn’t change. Are you sure you’re not confusing it with the IP address?

can you indicate the two MAC addresses in question (you have nothing to worry about security-wise, this address is only used locally).
There might be an option like anonymity protection in the TV that periodically changes the MAC address, which is increasingly seen on certain products.
But still, while it makes sense for a mobile or a tablet, it’s not very useful for a TV: we rarely take it with us.
However, what kind of application needs a constant address? That surprises me too.
Are these applications installed in the TV itself?
In any case, check if there is an option in this TV that allows that.
