Hello,
I just reinstalled my PC with the factory reinstall CD, and after the first boot, I keep getting a window called System Preparation Tools V.3.14 ? file (sysprep)
I’ve tried to understand how it works, but it's beyond my comprehension.
I don't want to select an option and click OK for fear of causing a failure during the restart. I always cancel, but I don’t know how to get rid of this at startup.
Of course, I can't remove it from the control panel nor prevent it from launching at startup via MSCONFIG
I have a choice on this window between
“System Clean-up Action” and below a drop-down menu with
entering OOBE (Out Of Box Experience)
and
entering System Audit Mode
below a checkbox for generalize
then at the bottom under Shutdown Options
my choices are
shutdown the system
exit
restart
What should I do?
Thank you

Hello!
Don't worry, there's nothing dangerous in there.
In short:
- the OOBE mode allows you to finalize the installation and customize your machine.
- the Audit mode allows you to boot in test mode. This mode lets you finalize the master or masters that you will then deploy across your fleet. So this doesn't concern you.
- the generalize checkbox allows you to deploy the master on multiple different machines. If this option is not checked, you will only be able to deploy on the reference machine, which is yours. So, there's no need to check it either.
In conclusion, in your case, the OOBE option is the one you need.
