Hello,
I've been searching but I can't find the solution to my problem.
I wanted to restart in safe mode to properly uninstall my antivirus to change it, and since then, I've been having big issues.
No matter which startup mode I select, I always return to the page where you choose the startup mode, I don't understand anything anymore.
So it's impossible to start the PC either in normal mode or in safe mode.
I should specify that the PC runs on XP Home Edition.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me get out of this mess.

I have the same problems... what to do? In addition, I tried a repair with the installation CD, but nothing works; no suggested mode (with the F8 key) works either. It boots up to the Windows XP screen (the boot actually) (with the blue loading bar), then a blue window appears (kind of fatal error) for a fraction of a second and then the PC shuts down... I've never had this issue before... I don't understand anything... I need help please.

Hello, I have a huge problem with my Packard Bell laptop, I have Windows XP, and for the past 2 days I haven't been able to access my desktop! I first tried to start Windows normally but a blue screen appeared, on which it is written: "A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer, UNMOUNT_BOOT_VOLUME [...] Technical information: *** STOP: 0x000000ED (0x8671EC08, 0xC000009C, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
I followed the different topics that said to press F9 or F5 and select safe mode, which I did, but safe mode doesn't work, it brings me back to this blue screen! In fact, all other modes bring me back to this BLUE screen (whether it's safe mode with network support, command prompt in safe mode, or last known good configuration)! Therefore, I can't run a virus scan or any other attempts because I can't access my desktop. I don’t know what to do! Plus, I don’t have the Windows CD! If anyone has a solution, it would be great to help me, I'm desperate :(
PLEASE HELP ME! I have all my data on this computer, I need to turn it back on! :( -
