Problem uninstalling McAfee

Hello,

I recovered a PC with McAfee installed. The person before me apparently started trying to uninstall it, but there is still a McAfee element in "Add or Remove Programs." However, when I try to remove it, it says:
"McAfee Agent cannot be removed in management mode."
I checked the hard drive, but there's nothing left, and now I can't reinstall it either... As soon as I start the setup, it shows me:
"unrecoverable error during installation."
So I can't use the utility to permanently remove McAfee (MCP... I can't remember too well) since McAfee needs to be uninstalled first.

I hope you can help me.
Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

    - Open a DOS window
    - In the McAfee\Common Framework directory, manually enter this command:

    frminst.exe /remove=agent

    And there you go.

      Hi.
I didn't really understand your approach. Opening a DOS window is fine, but what comes next?
What do we enter frminst.exe /remove=agent into? Actually, I don't see the connection between the window and the McAfee directory...
