Hello,
I'm looking for software that could help me synchronize the sound and image of a video.
I have a DVDrip film with good image quality but the audio is in English.
The second one is a TVRip with poor image quality but the audio is in French.
What I want to do is put the French audio in the DVDrip.
I have already extracted the audio from the TVRip, it lasts 1h36 while the TVRip itself lasts 1h39.
I will need to cut some sequences.
I cut 4 minutes from the beginning to test with the French audio but it's not easy with VirtualDub.
But I'm convinced there is better software than this, whether it's free or paid.
Thank you for your help.

Hello,
The first operation is to extract the audio from the video. That’s done.
As you pointed out, syncing the audio with a video of uneven duration is a hassle.
Two solutions:
1) Keep the audio track intact. In this case, cuts need to be made within the video to reduce the duration of certain sequences. This task requires patience, but it’s doable.
2) Keep the video intact. Here, the audio track's duration needs to be extended by cleverly interspersing audio inserts (e.g., repeating a musical excerpt or adding a new excerpt). Again, the work is tedious.
I’m not sure if VirtualDub is suitable for this type of editing. I work with more comprehensive (paid) software.

Unfortunately, VirtualDub is not precise for this kind of work and I keep cutting the sessions until I get the right sync... so it's taking way too long for nothing.
For the sound, I also need software to cut sessions; I use Ease Audio Splitter, but unfortunately, it's even less precise.
If you know of any paid options, I would appreciate it because the free ones are very limited.
Thank you.
