Video editing software

Hello,

I'm looking for video editing software that allows me to combine video clips with music, make edits, and do a lot of other little things in that vein.
A free tool would be great, but I'm willing to spend my money if the license isn't too expensive.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I have been happily using MAGIX VIDEO DELUXE 2004 for a long time and it works well.

Easy to use for a very nice result.

I paid less than 50 € for it.

The 2005 version has also been released!

Comparison test: video editing software

See you later

Windows XP manages video editing and it's free, otherwise download VirtualDub "free"

free quality video editing..... uh.... where is it possible!!!

notably, there are numerous programs on Linux that are free, available in French, and that are powerful and stable.

(compared to Movie Maker, which does not allow making films longer than 10 minutes....)

I'll give you a small list for fun...

- kino
- KDEnlive
- Cinelerra
- DVDauthor
- Lives

I think Kino is the easiest to use, it's as simple as iMovie. Plus, it should run on a live CD (Linux on CD without installation)...

Hello,

You're on Linux, having your various posts. What firewall and antivirus do you recommend?

See you soon

lol there are no viruses on Linux.
No, I'm not joking and there are two reasons for this:
- it is less targeted than Windows
and above all:
- it has far fewer flaws than Windows (none?). Security aspects are extremely developed in Linux such that if a virus ever manages (it would be an exploit) to hack a software, its damage will be limited to that software (no data deletions and other surprises like that :D).

It seems that several years ago, 3 viruses managed to change the screen resolution, but the flaws were corrected the next day. Since then, nothing. Nothing compared to the millions of functional viruses for Windows.

So: no need for antivirus or firewall or anything else for Linux. And no slowdown either, in short :).

-> For anyone looking for video editing software:
I know quite a bit about video editing and I've tested dozens of different software. So, if you want my opinion:

*If you're looking for free software, I strongly recommend Windows Movie Maker. While quite limited, I still think it's the best software to start video editing.
*Then, if you want to go further, you will need to spend about 40-50 euros to get a good software. I recommend buying Ulead Video Studio version 9 or 10, which costs around 50 euros. I've been using it for quite some time and I can assure you that with it you'll be able to make real amateur films.

So, if you have any questions or need further details, don't hesitate to ask me!

Hello

A clarification regarding DV cameras like Aiptek with memory cards.

How can one make a 30-minute film, for example, in several sessions without ending up with a multitude of very short video clips?

Can you, like with a good old cassette camera, resume the film from where you left off at the last shot?

Thank you

Hello,
I'm looking for software that allows you to "stick" several videos together. I don't really know if it exists or not, and if it does, I must be too stupid for not having noticed :S

Thank you in advance.

Well, actually, any editing software can do it:

Windows Movie Maker
Magix Video Deluxe
Pinnacle Studio 10
...
You just put your videos together, and when you go to save your movie in an mpeg or wmv format..., that's when your clips will be joined in the final video.

There you go (it's up to you to play), just a reminder, if you have Windows XP, Windows Movie Maker is included; otherwise, you have to buy software, or use "Virtual Dub" which is free, but not intuitive for a beginner.

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a fairly simple software to cut scenes from a video and remove parts of the video.
I've made my CSS video in .dem format, and by changing this format, neither of these programs (movie maker and movieXone) can read the video, so if you could help me, that would be nice :)

Hello! I've been using Windows Movie Maker for over 2 years, and I would like to dive into another video editing software. Currently, I manage a dance group, and we will soon begin making video clips featuring our specialty, such as break, hip hop, and smurfing, along with gana (modern Indian dance), like what you see in Bollywood films! For this, I need some names of good video editing software that allows for everything, especially playing with awe-inspiring effects with modern intro templates, basically all the stuff currently on TV but really with a lot of effects! Can someone help me? Thank you, and check out our Skyblog: http://athma.skyblog.com

Hello, there are VIDEO STUDIO 8 or VIDEO STUDIO 10, great software that is top-notch and easy to use; you just let yourself be guided and have fun. It's paid: too bad!!!

Hello, I made a little home video, but there is a background noise that I would like to eliminate.
Do you know of any free software that would allow me to work on it?

Thank you ;)

Help! I'm also looking for software to make videos...
I usually use Windows Movie Maker, but the problem is that it crashes all the time, and I can no longer make a full video. What should I do...?
Do you know another free and easy-to-use software that is compatible with Vista, please?

Hello everyone,

I have a quick question regarding Windows Movie Maker:

1.- I import a video, so far so good (good quality video)

2.- When I drag it to the timeline and play the clip, the video quality is poor...

So my question is: how can I drag my video onto the timeline while maintaining the original quality?

Impossible. Windows Movie Maker only has the fact that it is free to its credit.
Otherwise: it crashes regularly, converts everything to .wmv (hence the loss of quality), offers very few possibilities, and its evolution over the years is incredibly slow, if not almost nonexistent.

Fortunately, there are much more efficient software options that are continuously being developed on Linux, and they will surely one day make their way onto Microsoft’s horrible operating system.
Otherwise, install Linux; it's not complicated, it's free, better than Windows (do we even need to explain why?), and much more efficient! Here’s a little link to a tutorial you absolutely must read (fun and informative, teachers should really be worried about this kind of instructor ;o) ): https://openclassrooms.com/fr/courses

Hello

There are many advantages to using Linux. However, the fact that it is open source poses a problem when using hardware for which the manufacturer does not provide the code. For example, I use GIMP for photo editing with a Wacom Intuos 3 tablet connected via USB, and Linux cannot support this configuration. It is frustrating for the quality of my work.
I am set up with a dual boot, with the hard drive formatted in FAT32 so that the partitions are visible to both systems.

I am looking for video editing software that runs on Windows XP or Linux (Debian). As for Linux, could you tell me what options exist for simple video editing, with the ability to change the soundtrack? Thank you for your future help.

Here is my email: arieugon3(at)laposte.net
