FACEBOOK: Name change issue Solved/Closed

Question

Hello,

I changed my Facebook name some time ago (let's say about 6 months) to a nicer name (like a nickname that my friends call me).
Now I'm fed up and I want to change it back to my old and real name.
However, when I make the request, I don't get any response (I've tried at least ten times, so it's not a matter of waiting time).
Recently, when I try again (I'm stubborn), I get a message telling me to wait 2 weeks before making a new request because the last one was denied.

Also, does anyone know why Facebook is refusing my (REAL) name?
Is it because I had it before and we can't switch back to an old name?
Does anyone know a way to contact the administrators to get them to do something?

I searched extensively and I FINALLY found it! I did it like this:

- go to your account settings
- click on "general"
- then, click on your name
- in the new version of Facebook, it says "You cannot change your name right now because you have already done so in the last 60 days. Learn more."
- click on "learn more"
- then, it says "If your real name is not displayed on your account and you are unable to change it, contact us."
- click on "contact us"
- then, fill in your new name
- select any reason for the change
- select any file, but definitely not your ID to avoid legal tracking
- and finally, click on "submit"!

Now that FB is known and has managed to attract people, the site is entering the second phase: trapping its "clients" to keep information stable and gain even more information about you. Because we must not forget that you are just data and sources of profit.
FB is increasingly restricting possibilities:
- impossible to change your name unless you provide your phone number (note the additional intrusion into privacy) in order to complete its list of information on people
- impossible to create invisible friend groups among each other, all of this to interconnect as many people as possible, no matter if it bothers you.

I’ve been in your shoes too! In my opinion, if your real name was rejected, it’s because, as you said, you are TETU, and that shouldn’t be the case!
When you request a name change next time, make sure to submit the request ONLY ONCE because multiple requests within the same hour are not possible for FB, which is why you got an immediate refusal!
I’m telling you this because I was exactly like you, and one day I decided I wouldn’t insist, and it worked =)!

It happened to me too!!! Personally, I'm boycotting Facebook now!!  When I deactivated, I put "other" and in the message I said that I would come back the day I could change my name.

For anyone who has a problem with name changes, I've tried every day for 8 months, between 10 and 20 times a day, and I finally succeeded in changing my name, hoping that it helps some of you!

PS: Is there a website with strong influence that could force Facebook to delete my account and everything related to it?

Stop asking, it's just IMPOSSIBLE. After a certain number of name changes, Facebook no longer accepts it. It's somewhat normal on one hand since your real name doesn't change. Anyway, you can still use the names you've used previously.

Facebook restricts the maximum name change to 8 times normally. Instead of trying to identify yourself behind completely ridiculous names, use your real name or even your nickname, that should be more than enough.

However, for those for whom going back is no longer possible and the maximum number has been reached, two choices are imposed:
- Creating a new account after deactivating the current one.
- (By chance) contacting Facebook's representatives via email, also note that they are American, so do not write in French.

Hello Grégoire. I don't know why they refuse your real name. I'm far from being good at computers, but I still suggest you this link that I've seen on other forums—a link where you can change your name after you've reached the limit. It's not your case, I know, but it might allow you to restore your real name in another way. And it could also help those who have reached the name change limit :p
