unable to delete dll file Solved/Closed

Hello,

I have a problem that I have been unable to solve for a few days now, which I am submitting to you.

I am using Windows XP, and I have retrieved dll files (atmpvc.dll, miamore.dll, and trustac.dll to be precise) from C:\Windows\System32\ that I cannot delete even when restarting in safe mode.
These files were crashing IE, which can be resolved by disabling them in Tools\Manage Add-ons.
However, when I scan my hard drive with Norton Internet Security 2004, Norton crashes on these files with a critical error message (3019,1).
Has anyone else faced this type of problem and managed to find a solution?

to delete it, you can try this
create a file with Notepad containing anything
give it the same name and extension as the file you want to delete
Windows will tell you it exists and ask if you want to replace it, say yes and then delete the file you created

Hello treza

You can easily delete your files using the moveonboot utility that you can find here http://www.gibinsoft.net/gipoutils/bin/moveonb.msi

Once installed, I believe you just need to right-click on your file and click on "Delete File on the next boot" and voila, the file will be gone at startup ;o)

Personally, I had the same problem, and I looked in this topic without finding a good way. The method I found is:
1: move the .dll file to be deleted to your desktop.
2: Open your notepad and type "del" then "c:\Users\"your name"\Desktop\"the name of the dll file".dll
For me, it looked like this: del c:\Users\*********\Desktop\IEFWBHO.dll
3: save this file in batch format, to do this simply go to >file>save as, and then type the name you want to give this file (which doesn't matter) and put the extension ".bat", save this file on your desktop, close notepad, and run this file (which has the icon of a DOS command file), then normally the .dll file will be automatically deleted.

but I downloaded the utility: unlocker
and miracle! I can rename/move/delete my dll file as I want!
I just need to right-click on the stubborn file and click on the magic wand, and BAM! goodbye :D !

Hi :

to delete your file :

step 1 :

- Go to the annoying folder, go to tools,
- then in folder options, go to the view tab.
- uncheck "hide extensions for known file types." (which you can check again once the problem is resolved)

Step 2 :

- rename the dll file and change the extension to txt
for example :
if your file is called probleme.dll, then change it to a.txt
I say a, but it can be whatever you want.

for this example it will be a.txt

step 3 :

once the file is transformed into a.txt

- Go to your desktop, create a file with the same name, so: a.txt (notepad file)
- Delete it so it goes to the recycle bin. (but don't delete it from your recycle bin)

- Then go to the annoying folder and move your a.txt file to the desktop.

- From there, go to the recycle bin, take the a.txt file you put in the recycle bin, and drag it to the desktop.

- Windows will ask if you want to replace the existing file, you say yes.

And finally, you permanently delete the nuisance!!

There you go! it could be simpler though!
