Hello,
Having had the weakness of leaving my laptop in the careless hands of my children (who are 15 and 18 years old!) these last days, I now find myself with a keyboard where the asterisk key no longer works and I desperately need it to enter questions for my job as a writer for an e-learning site.... Is there anything simple I can do besides returning my laptop, which is still normally under warranty with the seller, and having to go without it for several weeks?....
Thank you in advance for your responses.

The detection I performed on TLD does not seem to find that my keyboard drivers are "outdated" (as far as I understand...).
Here is a copy of the 'keyboard' line from the detection of my drivers:
Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P. Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard with HP QLB
Installed drivers:
Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P. | INF file: oem23.inf | Class: keyboard | Version: 1.0.0.1 | Date: 06/18/2007
(and no 'Available drivers' line..)

So, my problem seems to be even more complicated than indicated above since, in fact, the asterisk command has been transferred to the less than and greater than keys, and the command seems to have completely disappeared from the keyboard... Does anyone have any idea what I can do to restore some order?
Thank you in advance.
Thank you in advance.
Start your computer in safe mode.
At 15 and 18 years old, I'm 13 and I manage 9 servers and 2 PCs and a Mac, yet none of them have ever crashed ^^.

Not everyone is as gifted as you, Fathy47!!... Besides, I might be totally misguided in this matter since this morning everything miraculously fell back into place (well, I fiddled with something last night using 'Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator' but it didn't seem to work at the time): maybe my poor teens aren't to blame after all...
In any case, thank you for your help.
