The ESC key is not working anymore.

Question

Hello,

I've been having a problem with my ESC key for a little while now (about 10 days). After a few hours of using the computer, it ends up becoming inactive. And it's not a problem with the keyboard itself because I've tested 2 keyboards to check.
It's really frustrating when I play games since 95% of games use this key for the menu...

If it didn't stay pressed down?  Check the "sticky keys." It's always weird that...

Well, the bug came back after all, it's not the sticky keys that are the cause... :(

perhaps, some keys are disabled in the registry?

Start > Run > type REGEDIT > click OK

search for the key...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout

on the right side, do you find Scancode Map?

if yes, right-click on Scancode Map and click Delete.

Do you use the "Box SimpleShare" app from box.net?  My problem was solved by quitting this application.

Have you found a solution? I have the same problem (on a Dell laptop), I even changed the keyboard and the problem persists... After a certain amount of time (after a certain number of presses on Escape?), the key becomes inactive, and it often happens when I'm using AutoCad

Apparently, some software messes up the escape key.
My escape key hasn't been working in games since yesterday, so I asked myself: what is the last software I installed since yesterday? The software for my webcam (it was hidden in the bottom right of the screen (when you click on the little arrow next to the time and network))
I closed the program and relaunched the game and it worked again.

So do like me:
Since when has it not been working?
What software was installed since the installation?
Close the software and relaunch the game.

Hello, You have to dismantle the escape key and not put it back on because it will stop working after a while.

The ESC key is not working anymore.
