my television is not receiving the HDMI signal

I bought an LCD screen LE46A676 and I can't receive the HDMI signal; the image appears and disappears immediately. For a device at this price, it should work better than this. Can you tell me what I need to do? Thank you

Yes, I even tried an HDMI amplifier, the seller advised me to use this solution, but there was no change.

the HDMI mode is activated after making a selection with the remote to choose the active input of the TV AV1, AV2, peritel1,2,3, HDMI etc. Then, an HDMI signal needs to arrive at the TV (HDMI cable connected to a PS3 or a Blu-ray player for example to be sure). After that, the TV will ask in which format you want to save; if you don’t know, set it to auto, it will select the most performant option and it should work. Can you test your HDMI cable somewhere else? Is it working? By the way, what's the HDMI amplifier? I've never heard of it.
The HDMI is like a peritel; it carries digital signals for sound and image but there's nothing to amplify??

Hello everyone,
to add to the discussion, I have a similar problem:

I have a Samsung HD LCD TV that no longer recognizes the HDMI signal from the Numericable TV decoder, while it recognizes the one from the DVD (home cinema). The Samsung technician changed the video card and confirmed that the HDMI inputs are working fine. I've changed the Numericable decoder, also changed the HDMI cable, but I still have a reception or recognition problem with the HDMI signal from the decoder. However, I have sound and image with the SCART.
Note that when I put the HDMI cable in place of the DVD one, it works but certain channels are not framed (image stretched upwards)!!!
I should also mention that I changed TVs, with only one HDMI input, and I have the same problem: no HDMI signal and by first connecting the DVD, then connecting the cable from the decoder, it works but with a stretched image issue.

My next lead... TV service quality from Numericable, possible arrival bandwidth issue for TV service...?
