Configure Symbol ls2208 scanner

Yes, of course, she does indeed read everything!
But in my activity, I only read EAN13 (13 digits)
and if I'm not in uppercase, she transforms the numerical code into letters and symbols ..
So I have to switch back to uppercase between each operation to ensure that she reads and transforms it correctly into digits.
It's not dramatic, I agree, but a bit annoying all the same.

I just encountered a similar problem.
I read 2/5 interleaved, and when I’m in uppercase, the scanner sends me the characters &é"'(-è_çà).
In the LS2208 documentation, page 5-9, there is a parameter "Alternate Numeric Keypad Emulation".
Enabling the function solved the problem.

I bought a LS2208 from https://www.ksl.eu/wxc/fr/ and received the 123 scan software, which allows easy configuration of the SYMBOL LS2208 barcode scanner. It can be downloaded for free from the Internet.

The manufacturers of barcode scanners offer complete manuals for download on their websites.
A barcode scanner is capable of reading by default all the codes (numeric and alpha) for which it was designed.
These manuals provide access to all the settings of the scanner, from the beep to the code read and its length, including the characters returned at the end of the reading.

It's true that the manual is not very clear!

DO I HAVE TO STAY IN UPPERCASE TO ONLY READ THE NUMBERS

I also had this problem with a LS3478. But my barcode contained an uppercase letter followed by a number.

So I either had the uppercase followed by the character &é"'(-è_çà)
or a lowercase followed by my numbers.

The solution was to use the "Convert All to Upper Case" option from the configuration manual.
