Set up a USB barcode scanner

I'm quite troubled... I have a barcode scanner on my lap:

It works, it beeps but does not write anything in Notepad!
The manual is in English, there are pages of barcodes but I don’t know which ones to choose to configure the scanner... I don’t know what they correspond to.
And I couldn't find the manufacturer's website, the seller is not responding.
I understood that with a USB scanner, you only need to scan barcodes, but which ones?
Initially, I scanned the one for the French language and the one for ISBN, then EAN 13 but nothing appears.
This scanner will be used to read the barcodes of books.
Can someone help me?

I arrive at the same conclusion.
It's impossible to update the USB drivers, I have to reinstall Windows, which I cannot do right now.

User manual instructions:
the decoder beeps, but no data is displayed on my computer
the decoder is set to strip the same number of characters as there are in your bar code
reconfigure the decoder to not strip characters from the bar code or the decoder is configured to send the numeric data as keypad numerics, or the keyboard country setting is set to universal.
reconfigure the decoder to send numerics as main keyboard keys and set the keyboard country setting to the country setting of your computer

but it does not tell me which bar code to refer to.

The company that distributes the handheld scanner contacted me...  Otherwise, I tested with an American keyboard, it doesn't decode any better.

In principle, you have several types of possible connections. With certain modes, the barcode scanner sends the information, but the currently running application receives it in the background. If it cannot process the received information (that is, if it has not been designed for that), nothing will actually be displayed.

For it to work as you desire, that is, for the barcode number to appear in the field that has focus, you need to use the "wedge" (keyboard) mode. In this case, the barcode scanner will simply behave like a keyboard. The number will then display in the field that has focus.

You have quite a bit of information on Caisse'Mag, especially about barcode scanners and cash register software (if you want to know how to operate a barcode scanner in its different modes, as this is the specialty of cash register software for commerce, you should find plenty of information there...).

So, I scanned:
1- reset configuration to defaults
2 - wedge mode - autodetect
I did not type: wedge mode - scan set2 pass thru
3 - keyboard France

and nothing on the screen.

The laptop's keyboard is a standard PS/2 keyboard, maybe that's what's blocking?
There might be a setting to change on the laptop...
If I follow the instructions, it just requires a reset and choosing the language.
Or maybe the USB drivers are not up to date...

I believe that the USB version needs a driver to be installed. Otherwise, there are adapters that allow you to convert the scanner to a keyboard connection (PS/2 keyboard port).

Hello,

I am a librarian and I just acquired an iclever scanner. I also had trouble configuring it, but my supplier provided me with a step-by-step guide, which is as follows:

First, open the user manual on page 2 and scan the barcode for "begin setting";
Second, scan the barcode for "ISBN Enable" on page 14;
Third, scan the barcode for "End setting" on page 2;
Finally, scan the barcode for "Save setting Parameter" on page 2;
Note that you must perform the scans in the specified order.

If this method does not work, you can try scanning "All barcodes Enable" on page 13, following the previous order.

You can first restore the factory settings:
1. Ensure that your PC's input method is set to FR;
2. Open the user manual on page 2 and scan the barcodes in the following order: return to the manufacturer setting----begin setting----USB----end setting----Save setting Parameter.
