Problem with my Funai 82 cm LCD

Solved

Hello,
I am writing to you because I purchased an 82 cm Funai LCD screen around November. The TV worked very well for 2 weeks, then all of a sudden the TV stopped responding to the remote control, and we had to unplug it and plug it back in. There are other problems as well; the TV freezes on an image, turns off and on again, or when we try to turn it off, the standby light stays green instead of turning red. To date, I have sent the TV to Funai's after-sales service three times; they replaced a capacitor and the control board, plus some adjustments, and it hasn't changed anything, the problems continue and new ones appear.
My question was whether, since this is the third time I have sent it to them, they can change it for me or refund me after the fourth time because when we buy a new device that costs a certain amount, we prefer it to work.
Thank you for responding to me.
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

Hello

I also bought a Funai screen in March, it worked very well for 3 months.
Suddenly, as soon as I turn it on, it automatically switches to standby.
I've sent it for repair 3 times, supposedly there is no problem, they don't want to exchange it or give me a store credit....
I don't know what to do anymore, I'm stuck with a screen that cost 379€ that doesn't work....
I'm losing it!!!!
If anyone has the same issue as me, please respond!!!!
Hopefully see you soon for solutions.......

Good evening,
I am interested in the issues you have experienced. Indeed, a little over a year ago, I purchased a 19'' Funai screen. It worked fine for 6 months, then it started having this type of failure, namely: when I try to turn it on, the indicator light turns green, blinks several times, then goes back to red. At first, the failure didn't happen too often, but now it's regular.
Since last June, I have sent the TV to the Carrefour service center, which keeps it for 3 weeks and then returns it to me with a ridiculous repair excuse. I keep it for 3 days to 1 week and then send it back. It must now be 5 or 6 back and forth. I request a refund or exchange, but supposedly it's up to the manufacturer to make the decision. However, I have made numerous videos with my camera and even sent them a CD with these, but so far with no result. Your testimony reassures me that this is not an isolated failure and that FUNAI is well aware.
Best regards.

Hello,
I left you a message regarding your screen issue. I wanted to know what response Funai or your customer service provided. I have the exact same problem and I need to go back on Wednesday to try to resolve the situation.
Thank you for your reply.

Best regards.

Hello
On 12/06/2008, idiot, I made the mistake of buying two LCD televisions from this brand, they are already broken (black screen, green light flashing, unresponsive to commands or remotes) after very little use, a maximum of 5 hours per week, the quality and reliability of these devices need to be reviewed, sad, bitter, and a costly experience that drives me towards another brand!!!

Hello,
On October 2, 2008, I bought a FUNAI LT6M32BB for 399€, so it's been 5 years and now it's broken (the green light blinks when turning on and turns red again). While browsing the internet, I found a little trick: take a hairdryer and blow warm air on the ventilation grilles. It works, but it's only a temporary solution, as I will have to change my TV (no repair possible). I find it very expensive for the amount of time I used it. I've just written to FUNAI FRANCE, but I doubt they'll respond.
Good luck to you all.

Hello, I just bought a Funai TV for 349 euros at Carrefour. How long will it last?????????? How do I go about the 5-year warranty? I was told to do it online, but where??????????

It is already guaranteed for 2 years; given the price of this TV, it is unnecessary to guarantee it for 5 years. It will have lost a significant amount of its value in 2 years; it's low-end and from a non-listed brand. The additional cost of the 5-year warranty will exceed the value of this TV after 2 years.

For your information, I bought a Funai TV and the 5-year parts and labor warranty is offered by Funai; you just need to register on their website.

the 5-year warranty is free. You just need to go to the Funai website and register the TV.

The registration must be done within 30 days of purchase, for me it's already too late!!!

Choose a real brand: Sony, Sharp, or LG.

Funai, low-end Asian brand, for the standby and power-on issue, it's likely once again a low-quality capacitor....

You can ask to have it exchanged, and the store will issue you a credit note. Have you thought about asking for the warranty extension? It applies automatically in case of prolonged immobilization, but often stores "forget" to implement it even though it's mandatory.
If the store did not inform you of this obligation, if you have proof of multiple returns for a defective TV, this will allow you to argue for a credit note for the purchase of another TV or for a replacement, in case your store refuses to comply with your request. As a seller, they have obligations to achieve results, so you could threaten to approach a consumer association or the DGCCRF in your department.
