Graphic issue (pink squares)

Hello,

I'm posting here all my messages related to my problem. If anyone knows what it's about, that would be great, thanks!

# I've had a PC for about 6 months now, so it's quite new.
I'm seeing colored bands or pink squares all the time, and I can't access the desktop, the computer freezes before that with a blue screen and the error message about "ati2dvag."
From what I've read on other forums, it seems that the graphics card might be fried...

Could it be something else?
Thanks.

My drivers were up to date, and the card hasn't been shocked, as far as I can tell.
It freezes before reaching the desktop, actually.

Hello, I haven't had any issues until recently.
My computer isn't working again with the exact same problem, even though it had fixed itself!!
It's incomprehensible!

Do you have any ideas please, because I really don't know what to do!!!

Just a small detail, before it bugs, my screen was behaving a bit like this screenshot I found:

Until I launched TF2 and then it was a disaster, the computer froze and restarted, then the original problem came back...

Thanks.

As you overclocked your graphics card?

It could also be a problem with the graphics card overheating (you never know ^^), is your case well-ventilated?

I believe so, it all depends on what you mean by well-ventilated lol.
I had quite a bit of dust in my room, can that play a role?

I think you should open the case and clean your graphics card a bit, it might be too dusty, clean the fan well and let me know if you notice a change.

Hello,

I followed your advice and cleaned it thoroughly. I reconnected it and it did the same thing, so that's not the problem.

However, I noticed something: I restarted it with the case open, and when I keep my hand on my graphics card and lift it a little, just applying a tiny bit of upward pressure, it stops bugging; I no longer have pink stripes...

Any ideas?

Thanks

It might be a loose connection since when you lift it, there are no more issues... I can't find where the problem might come from...
