Salut à toi, tu vois, je suis nouvelle aux Sims 2 et je l'ai acheté en janvier. Enfin bref, tout ça pour te dire que moi aussi ça m'a fait ça et encore maintenant. Tu as téléchargé des maisons récemment ? Si oui, il faut que tu les supprimes, car il y a des maisons qui ne sont pas bonnes. Enfin... voilà quoi, tu me comprends ! À++
My friend too: She was installing The Sims 2 that I lent her and it showed a fatal error. Without adding anything, she tried again 10 times and with no success. After that, she tried placing Sims in another bigger folder, and that worked for her. But for some, all it takes is simply to restart their computer when it says "fatal error."

Me too, it used to do that to me, but because I had installed it on my external hard drive, now it works perfectly fine.
Hi
I had the same problem
but I had to uninstall my The Sims 2 and reinstall it
I still had a fatal error...
So I checked if I had space on my computer
I defragmented my hard drive and cleaned up my files
but actually I was told that I needed to remove downloads
from downloads
so I went from 3864 downloads
to 2610
and now I have no problem
See you later and good luck!!

I also have terrible issues with The Sims 2 and yet I don't have many downloaded files (600). Before, when I had my computer, it worked very well, and now that I've changed... fatal error problem. It's frustrating because I really like The Sims 2.
Maybe one day we'll find the problem. Good luck to everyone! (k)

Hello!
Uh... What do we do when the file causing the bug is a package file that's already installed in the game? I've already deleted it from my computer, but I don't know how to remove it from the game...

Well, you remove it from the Downloads folder, so it will end up in the recycle bin and you just have to delete it from the recycle bin and it will be completely removed from your computer and therefore from the game!
Good luck...

Hello,
I have a problem when installing my additional drives on my external hard drive.
At the end of the installation, the update starts, and then it says,
"error during the update, the game will now be uninstalled."
Please help me! Sniff.

<translation>Um, silly question but I can't find where the downloads file is, considering that I installed The Sims on a different partition than C. Can you help me?</translation>
Hello,
It happened to me too, and after a week of searching without finding anything, I formatted my hard drive and reinstalled everything. I suppose that due to downloading a lot, there were some corrupted files. Anyway, now my setup is clean and I'm playing without any problems.

I also got a "fatal error" after some downloads. The items I had downloaded previously started flashing blue, and the fatal error message appeared saying the application has to close. I then deleted all the Sims I had just downloaded, but my items are still flashing blue. The only solution for the game not to crash is to sell the flashing item and replace it with another, and then the application doesn't close, but it's annoying. I think it comes from the houses I downloaded because everything was working fine before.
Well, for me, it's the first installation of The Sims 2, fatal error right after the first title screen, nothing downloaded, clean XP, reasonable disk space (20GB), 2GB of RAM (Samsung), GeForce FX 5500 256MB graphics card and a decent processor (2GHz), but on another PC that has half the "power", no problem after installing the patch...
What to do? Set the PC on fire and build a new one?
Best regards...

There are several possible reasons:
Either your disk is scratched in a sensitive spot > Solution: Uh, buy a new one
Or you have too many downloads > Solution: Clear some (especially if you have one that shows a warning sign /!\ at the beginning of your neighborhood selection)
Or there is a VIRUS or a malicious program in one of your downloads that can control one of your actions (to check) > Solution: Reformat everything sniff
Or, most probably: Your screen turns off after a few minutes because it goes to sleep after a few minutes > Solution: On your Desktop, right-click, Properties and check the settings
There you go, I've given all the possible solutions for whatever type of problem it is (xd normally)
