Hello,
I need help please.
When I call my daughter's iPhone 3G from my landline, there is no dialing tone, but she can hear me; she talks to me, but I can't hear anything, as if it were muffled.
This is the first time I've had this problem because usually everything works fine.
Additionally, I receive calls, and I call other people with my landline without any difficulties.
Thank you to anyone who can respond.Configuration: Linux
Firefox 2.0.0.17

Hello, I just had the same problem with my iPhone,
I can hear people on the other end of the line, but no one can hear me
whether it's a landline or a mobile, I had to reset it but I still have the same problem,
plus it gets stuck on the time when it messed up, impossible to change...
What is happening??
help please!!

Hello, I have the Samsung Platinum, it's new I bought it 2 days ago. I'm with Bouygues, and I'm in the same situation as you; I have to put it on loudspeaker when someone calls me and when I call someone else, otherwise I can't hear anything at all and the person on the other end can't either.
Hello everyone!
I had the same problem as you, I was calling a contact I could hear very well but they couldn't hear me. (I had my iPhone 4 replaced the day before because I couldn't hear my contact... Thanks, Apple...)
Anyway, for those who have the iPhone 4 like me: plug your iPhone into your computer, launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest update and that your iPhone is recognized...) do a little sync to back everything up and... check for an iPhone update! If there is one, install it and everything should be back to normal, it worked for me...
I hope this helps a bit =)
Wishing you all a pleasant day.

For those who are still having the same issue... after an Apple customer service return telling me that they found nothing and that they sent my product back, I called Orange and there I spoke to a technician who told me that there were issues with my SIM card. After asking me to turn off my iPhone, he performed a sort of update and indeed, I no longer have any problems. However, he told me that it would come back, so he sent me a new SIM card that I am expecting to receive at home within 48 hours. If this can help^^
there you go.
there you go.
I also have the iPhone 4 and for a week, I've been having the same problem as you. To make my interlocutors wait, I have to plug in the earbuds.
Does anyone have the solution, please?

Hello everyone,
I have a Nokia 1600, not very new but it was working fine before I switched from my Origami Zen plan to Sosh. Since then, I've had reception issues or when I make a call, I can hear my correspondent perfectly but they can't hear me. However, sending SMS works fine.
Who has an idea? Apparently, I'm not the only one in this situation.
Could it be a "problem" on the operators' side who would like everyone to switch to 4G?
Thanks for your advice and ideas.

Hi everyone.
Thank you very much for your responses on this site.
This morning when I woke up my iPhone 4S was working fine.
But I went out to smoke a cigarette, and it rained.
As a result, a big drop of water fell into the hole where you plug in the earphones.
So my sound was no longer working; it was stuck in headphone mode.
I could call, listen to music, watch videos, and send messages with sound only when the earphones were plugged in. But it didn't work when I took them out; it was stuck.
When I called, the person could hear me but I couldn't hear them.
So what I did was I took a cotton swab and put it in the hole.
This technique didn't work at all because I didn't want to force it too much to avoid breaking the headphone jack.
So I looked up several responses online, and yes, like a loser, I sucked on the headphone jack hole.
That worked very well.
Thank you very much for your responses.
They helped me a lot.
Thanks again.

I have the iPhone 4, and people can't hear me when I call, but I can hear them perfectly well. For them to hear me, I have to use the speakerphone or the headphones that came with the phone. Once I activated the voice command, and it worked for a day; people could hear me, but the problem has returned. If anyone has a solution, I would like to know. Thank you.
Same problem... The microphone is disabled during calls (incoming and outgoing) and also via Skype and Tango...
However, the microphone works with the voice recorder, videos, and Shazam...
When trying to reactivate the microphone, nothing happens...
I deleted all my applications and did multiple "factory" restorations and nothing worked...

I had the same problem with my Bouygues Telecom iPhone 4
I was on 4.3.3 and my callers couldn't hear me anymore
So I cleaned the two small openings at the bottom and the headphone jack at the top
Then I restored to 4.3.5 and it came back ;)
So I went back to 4.3.3 with iFaith and it works again!!!

same kind of problem
Calling a mobile from my mobile: the correspondents can hear me but I can't hear them
Incoming call to my mobile from a correspondent: same thing
same observation with 3 different correspondents
Calling a landline from my mobile: it works
A hardware issue with my speaker is probably not the cause
SMS messages go through
After the "restart + remove/replace battery and SIM card" procedure was unsuccessful..
I called Virgin's hotline, and they told me that they would need to "reset" a line on their side
and that it should be fixed in less than 10 days...(oh yes!)
I am asked to try again regularly and hope!
Note: Migration from Virgin to Red SFR is in progress following the acquisition.

I have the same problem.
I have the iPhone 4 and 9/10 my caller can't hear me or hears me very, very poorly.
I am with Proximus (Belgium). Do you think I should go to Apple or to my operator?
P.S.: I have had a new SIM card (micro-SIM) for the iPhone 4 for a few days now.

Hello everyone, the caller who is calling me can't hear me while I can hear them very well, the same thing happens when I call??? What's going on??? Is there a problem with the iPhone??? With the carrier??? With the Internet that I don't have in my plan??? Thank you for your answers.
I've been having the same problem for 3 weeks; the person I call can't hear me and vice versa. I thought it was my old phone since it was quite outdated. I just changed it today, and to my surprise, when I got home, the problem still exists with the new phone.
I don't have an iPhone, just a regular phone. I'm with Bouygues, and you????
I thought maybe it was a SIM card issue; apparently, I'm not the only one with this problem?
Have you found a solution ??????
Manon.
