Hello,
I would like to create a chart based on hidden cells.
Here’s how I proceed:
- When the cells are not hidden, I create my chart in the usual way.
- I place my chart over columns that will not be hidden.
- Then I hide my cells.
However, the information within my chart (not the chart window itself) disappears.
Does anyone know how to keep the chart visible while hiding the cells that I used to create it?
PS: I am working on Excel 2003 in English.
Thank you for your help

Good evening everyone.
I see that this question was asked a long time ago but I couldn't find any answer. So I started looking for the right solution and I am pleased to share it with everyone.
I found a trick in Office 2010.
You select the chart. With the right mouse button, choose "Select Data". In the window that opens, click on the option "Hidden and Empty Cell Settings". Then, you can check the box "Show data from hidden rows and columns". Now click OK.
Go back to your sheet and hide the columns you want.
Wow, the chart is still visible!
