Hello, I just received the Emtec box with a 500GB hard drive and the Wi-Fi key. Could you please tell me how to assemble it first and then set it up with the Wi-Fi key? Thank you very much.
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

For your information, it is not necessary to have the Wifi key as you can also connect the movie Cube to your Box (Freebox, Alicebox...) via the ethernet port. The movie box will then be shared via Wifi. I also connected it to the TV decoder, which avoids having to record with the TV turned on; just leaving the decoder ON will be enough for the recording.

      Good evening,
      please help me!!!!
I just got the Orange TV (UHD 86 decoder). So all reception is done via the phone sockets. I've had the Movie Cube Q800 for over a year now. The problem is that I don't know how to record something with the hard drive while watching something else on the UHD 86 decoder. I used to have no issues with the antenna socket, but now I don't know how to do it at all!! Knowing that my hard drive is not networked and my TV has two SCART sockets, no built-in TNT, and no HDMI port...
      Thank you for your answers!!

It seems to me that once the update is done, you need to connect it to the TV and wait until the end of the update without connecting it to the PC

take a look here anyway, it's the same principle as the R100 it seems

      Hello,
Yes, it's good, it's working. Indeed, you have to do the entire installation via the TV.
      It works!!!
      Thank you very much.

      Indeed. ....
I bought this R700 (with 750 GB HDD) as a Christmas gift for my sons-in-law.
After reading all these issues about the initial setup, I had cold sweats!! I went for it to avoid any troubles for my sons-in-law and preserve my daughters' relationships... lol

To be honest, I didn't encounter any problems... thank you for your useful information.
I browsed quite a few forums to understand... I'm sharing here what I did, in case it helps.

      1) The USB key that came with the R700 contains everything needed for installation. I backed up the part.txt file before any modifications (old reflex) and allocated 45% for FAT and 45% for NTFS. The remaining 10% will be used by the system for TV recordings, time shift, etc... I hesitated about having just one partition, but the rationale behind it is:
      - Need for FAT 32 if you want to write (via Linux and Wi-Fi... if I understood correctly...). The problem with FAT 32 is the 4 GB limit for files. So NTFS is needed if you use this type of files (especially for HD coming soon...).
      So, two partitions...

      2) I connected the USB key and the TV to the R700 (only via the Yellow jacks (video), White and Red (Sound)).

      3) I pressed the Standby button and while keeping my finger pressed, I plugged in the power supply.

      4) I waited a few seconds (4 to 5) and released the button.

      5) The installation started. I could follow its progress on the TV (not great... to see bars moving). It lasts about 10-15 minutes. The R700 turns off automatically once the installation is complete.

      6) I removed the USB key and restarted it. I only configured the language and time on the TV, then I turned off the R700.

      7) Only at that point did I connect the R700 to the PC. I turned it on, it detected automatically and
      switched to PC mode.

      8) On my PC (Windows), I could see the 2 partitioned drives (FAT 32 and NTFS). I created folders in a tree structure and copied Divx movies.

      9) I disconnected the drives and turned on the R700 again.

      10) No problem reading the movies on the TV.

If this can help.. (I haven't tested the Wi-Fi, recording, and all that... I'll leave that to my sons-in-law... lol)

      Hello everyone
HELP PLEASE, I received the R700 not long ago and when I connect it to the PC, the "dong ding" indicates it is recognized but I can't find it in the computer or anywhere else!
I'm not sure I understood your problem correctly, so if it's the same as mine, do I need to connect it to my TV first? I didn't get a USB key with it, is that normal?

      Thank you!!!

    Hello Marc

Well, I have the same problem with a 1TB disk
I mounted it as best as I could
but after that, I'm lost. I connected it to my computer
and nothing happens, plus the power stays on even if I press the start button.

Thank you for your help. Help..... lol

For a first startup, you need to plug the USB key into one of the USB ports, press the Power button, and while holding down the Power button, connect the power supply. After 3 seconds, you can release the Power button and that initializes the formatting.

In the file part.txt, you can modify the size of the partitions; by default, it is 30% for a Fat32 partition and 30% for an ntfs partition, leaving 40% for the time shift.

        Hello,
I just bought an MC R700 + 500 Go and I am following all the comments and chat on the web about it.
Thank you for the advice and especially for helping others. I am very interested in the personalized sharing of the hard drive, but on the CD delivered in the rep SYS, I cannot find the file you mentioned to change the %.
Thank you for your help. I am waiting for your advice before starting my installation.

      Hello everyone
I also just bought a Movie Cube S800 with 1TB
and there is no manual explaining how to assemble the hard drive, but I feel like I'm missing some parts!
I don't have an external cover, no rack to fix the hard drive!
Thanks in advance for your information
      See you!

I've followed exactly what you explained, but nothing... I'm left with a hard drive that is recognized by my PC but no partition created.
I'm at a loss... Does anyone have a solution... because I've even tried to format it... but nothing.

I don't know if you're going back to the forum, so........ you need to unplug the box from your computer, otherwise it behaves like a secondary hard drive. I hope I helped you

    Hello again,

I solved my problem; indeed, during the first installation, the HDD should not be connected to the computer, otherwise it behaves like a secondary hard drive.
So you just have to redo the process without connecting it.
I hope I have helped some people... everything has been working since then.
I have had no issues connecting it to the network via the Wi-Fi key.

      Hello titeve,
thank you for your response, but I would like you to tell me if once this manipulation is completed, you can record the TV while it is off or on, and if you can record one channel and watch another? Thank you for shedding light on my question lol.

      Hello,
      I just received my R700.
I followed the installation steps found on the forum to the letter.
I installed the firmware available on the USB stick that came with it, but unfortunately as soon as it finishes and turns off, I turn it back on, remove the USB stick, connect it to the computer, but nothing happens.
Why isn't the computer detecting it?
What am I forgetting to do?
Thank you in advance to all those who can give me the correct procedure.
