Hello
thank you for the response, it's the first one
There aren't 36 but at least two or three methods to avoid opening this thing that might not come back especially since it's not mine; I've heard about some standard passwords that I would like to use first! -
Software reset
If the password is only requested at setup, it is possible, with certain motherboards, to recover it without having to perform all the above manipulations.
Get the CMOSPWD software (freeware):
https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/CmosPwd
This program works with the following BIOS:
ACER/IBM BIOS
AMI BIOS
AMI WinBIOS 2.5
Award 4.5x/4.6x/6.0
Compaq (1992)
Compaq (New version)
IBM (PS/2, Activa, Thinkpad)
Packard Bell
Phoenix 1.00.09.AC0 (1994), a486 1.03, 1.04, 1.10 A03, 4.05 rev 1.02.943, 4.06 rev 1.13.1107
Phoenix 4 release 6 (User)
Gateway Solo - Phoenix 4.0 release 6
Toshiba
Zenith AM

If you don't succeed on the first try, call it version 1.0 -
Thank you again
the password is requested on the first screen, I tried to boot from the CD-ROM for XP installation but it doesn't work! What I'm looking for is a standard password just to give priority to the CD (I don't ask for more)!!! -
Here, there aren't 36 solutions; you need to reset the BIOS.
Open your ThinkPad and remove and reinsert the BIOS battery; that will reset it to zero.

If you can't get it right the first time, call it version 1.0.
