Hello,
I have a problem with my Archos 604: As soon as I turn it on it shows an error:
Recovery (code 2)
System is damaged. Would you like to recover it ?
-No
-Repair
-Format Disk
I've tried all 3 but the error still occurs. Does anyone have this problem or can help me?

Hello everyone, I have the solution for Recovery (code 2) of the ARCHOS 604 30GB...
If you were like me and none of the 3 options answered (No, Repair, or Format Disk)
Then grab your screwdriver!!!
It's a problem of a poorly connected connector to your internal hard drive (30GB).
Let me explain: you need to
1 - remove the battery (right block)
2 - then remove the left block by taking out the screws
3 - You will directly come across a disk with a big blue letter
4 - lift it slowly, you will notice this famous switch that is poorly connected (it looks like a thick tape)
5 - reconnect it properly on both sides and close it well
Put everything back in order (do not forget any screws) and power the Archos back on normally and you're done!
Very important if your ARCHOS is under warranty do not open it because if it still doesn't work, well you're screwed; I did this because my warranty had expired and I didn't want to pay for the after-sales service.
There you go, good luck-

thank you very much i had a bit of trouble but i made it, it had been two weeks since i had it and it failed on me, it is very simple for those who don’t manage: you have to remove the battery then the other part by removing the screws, then lift the disk and properly reattach the kind of tape that is held by a black base, you have to press the tape in well and push the base so that it doesn’t move anymore, the hardest part is putting the screws back in but otherwise it works again so thanks to everyone
