Hello,
A few months ago, my sister's computer had a strange bug that created a new user in
the documents and settings folder. As a result, most of the installed programs behaved as if
they were being used for the first time.
For The Sims 2, it erased my sister's saves. Since I have some time, I would like to try to recover them.
I found the "saved sims" file in the old user account that dates back to before the bug; does anyone know what
to do with it?

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

Double-click on "My Documents" on your desktop, then you will find a folder named "EA Games". Double-click on it, and you will find another folder named "The Sims 2". Copy and paste it to another hard drive or USB stick, then put it back in the session where you want to have the backup (originally C:\Documents and Settings\ *your desktop* \My Documents\EA Games .. and place here the folder named "The Sims 2" that you recovered). Launch your game, and you will find all your families, houses, and backups.

I would like to know if I should do the same as what you said for this problem:
Today when I wanted to play The Sims 2 Pets and Stuff, I started as usual, I launched the game, and when I arrived in the city menu, I clicked on Montsimpa, and there Oo all the houses were for sale. No more families. The houses were still furnished.
I went to check the other two cities, and all the other families were still there (the ones I didn't create except for one that was still there). So there you go, I hope someone can help me and tell me how I can recover the families (ps: I had over 40 in Montsimpa):'(
