[Sims2]Graphics Card and DirectX

Hello!!!

I have a little problem actually, I installed The Sims 2, I played it and everything, and one day I don’t know why it gives me a message:

"No compatible DirectX 9.0c graphics card! Check that your computer has a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics card and the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will be closed."

What should I do to play The Sims 2 again? !!!!

It’s been a month and a half that I can't play, so you are my last hope!!!

    Hello,

    After a few days of research, I have the answer!

    Response for the error: "No compatible Direct9.Oc graphics card! Please check that your computer is equipped with a DirectX9.Oc compatible graphics card as well as the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will be closed."

    Solution:

    1) Set the color quality to 16 bits.
    To do this: Go to your desktop, right-click, and click on "Properties". Go to the "Settings" tab and change the "Color quality" to 16 bits. Click OK.

    2) Force the game to open in a window
    To do this: Right-click on the icon where you launch the game and select "Properties". Then change your "Target" field from "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\TSBin\Sims2.exe" to: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\TSBin\Sims2.exe" -w
    THE END OF THE TARGET FIELD MUST END WITH A SPACE FOLLOWED BY -w

    Then click OK

    Good luck and enjoy the game (Your game will be in a window).

      I have a big problem with The Sims 2 Deluxe...
      I bought it 3 years ago and it has always worked perfectly, but the problem today is that it runs when I start it up, but when I select a neighborhood (like Pleasantview, for example), instead of grass, there are numbers... Everything else works normally except for that :( I don't know what to do at all and I don't know anything about computers, so graphics card or anything like that is all Greek to me :( I'm on Vista, so if anyone has a solution, I would really appreciate it... Thank you.

    Hi, my problem with The Sims 2 is that my DVD-RW drive won't even read it!!!
    What do you think is the reason it doesn't work?

    I have the same problem... I was playing The Sims 2 yesterday and before playing I got this word... I restarted the computer and it worked. But today I had the same problem, I restarted the computer but it doesn't work... I don't understand anything.

      I installed a graphics card, I installed DirectX 9.0c, I don't understand anything about DirectX 9.0c, is it a scam or just crap!
      Isn't there an easy solution to this? I really want to play!

    As matmat27 said, it looks like a driver problem!
    If your PC is a brand-name computer, like NEC, Packard Bell, etc., note the serial number behind the CPU: s/n xxxxx
    and go to the manufacturer's website, you will find the details of your hardware!
    Otherwise, install Sandra

    Hi,
    in order to play, you first need to have a graphics card, so I recommend you to already know the brand...
    go to the manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers.

    Note: if the graphics card is an Nvidia, go to the website: www.nvidia.com, there click on DOWNLOAD DRIVERS, and then you have 2 choices, if you know your graphics card that's great, otherwise, choose option 2.

    I had the same problem with The Sims 2 tonight. Message "No DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics card detected?...". After many attempts, I finally updated my graphics card driver (NVIDIA) and now it works. It's amazing!
    To update the graphics card driver, I went to the NVIDIA website and you can download the update. That's it.

    I had the same problem as all of you...
    Graphics card: Ati Mobility Radeon 9000 (laptop)

    The game didn't even start once...
    On my home PC, it works fine (but runs extremely slowly)
    I bought this laptop for €400 and I heard that if I wanted to change the graphics card, I would have to pay more than the computer itself...

    I really need your help...
