LG DVD Recorder RC278 Issue

Hello,
my DVD recorder is no longer playing any CDs or DVDs, but the VHS playback works perfectly. After opening the DVD "tray," it goes in and out on its own constantly.
What could be the cause?

    Resolved after replacing the DVD drive. Order from www.sos-accessoires.com

    Repair is easy to perform.

      Hello, I have the same problem, Conforama diagnosed the same repair that I refused, but since then I can't even use the VHS because the player keeps saying "hello" and no information gets to the TV!!! If anyone has a solution!

    Hello, if you're interested, I can fix the drawer problem for you... it's the DVD block that needs to be replaced!!

    same problem with the LG RC 299 h; The supports are not the issue, mine experienced it gradually, at first it was reading;
    LG must be using the same reader in these different products: of very poor quality.

      Hello, my DVD recorder/VHS combo no longer accepts DVDs and DivX that have already been played on this device.
      When I insert a disc, it ejects it, indicating at first "unknown disc" and now "no disc."
      I have already cleaned the lens, but nothing changes. The VHS side works normally.
