Good evening! So, to get the bass on the YAMAHA RX-V363 there are a few steps to take! First, perform the auto calibration by connecting the microphone to the "Optimizer mic". At least if everything works and especially if the bass responds, it means it's properly connected!

Menu > Manual Setup > 1) Sound Menu > A) Speaker Set > Bass Out > SWFR or BOTH

Menu, enter > Auto Setup, down arrow; Manual Setup, enter > 1) Sound Menu, enter > A) Speaker Set, enter > Front B, down arrow until you land on Bass Out; then move the arrows left or right until you get bass; for me whether it's SWFR or BOTH it works but on FRNT it doesn't work :)

For those who own a PS3, think of one thing... the HDMI ports on this receiver are only for VIDEO. (which means... NOT MUCH, for those who have a PS3)
So with the PS3, you need to use either the multi-cable with the red and white connectors (audio) connected to your receiver. Then, don’t forget to configure your PS3 for sound using the multi composite cable as well as the PCM format.
However, if you connect your receiver with an optical cable to the PS3, make sure to set your PS3 to bitstream, otherwise you will only get stereo sound with your Blu-rays.
Make sure to check your PS3 settings, because if it doesn't send the correct signal, your receiver won't be able to decode it...

As for me, I have a problem with my subwoofer, it doesn't output any sound and yet it works well... (power supply) I think it's a setting issue but I can't find which one... I'm a bit stuck... sniff.

Hello everyone, I just bought the Yamaha RX-363 amplifier pack and the NS-P110 speakers of the same brand. I'm setting everything up this morning, and I hope it goes well. The anxiety of the newness since I'm a novice in home video. I'll let you know if I can help anyone... or if I need help!!!

Hello everyone!!

Unlike all of you, I had the whole thing set up without too many issues, but I disconnected it to embed my speakers... Everything works well! But when I tried to do the auto setup, also called YPAO, it wouldn't work and it says "EXTRA ........ NONE". So, I can't redo the installation with YPAO. Can someone help me!! Otherwise, a valuable piece of advice I needed: personally, I didn't bother with the installation and all the issues I had were answered by the seller at DARTY... so give it a try!

I read your article about connecting the PS3 to the Yamaha RX-363 amplifier. I just bought it a few days ago. I'm a novice in home cinema and I wanted to know if you could explain to me from A to Z how to get the sound to work with the PS3. I connected the optical cable between the PS3 and the amp, but there's no sound, which is strange.

After 24 hours of fiddling around, I found the option that allows to detect the subwoofer.
Don't ask me to explain where the option is, I've already forgotten lol

Hi, I don't know if this can help you, but there is an option on the PS3 to set it to optical; if you don't activate it, no sound will come out.

Hello everyone, I'm addressing all those who have a Yamaha RX-V363 amplifier.
I’ve connected everything as stated in the manual, the amplifier alone without any sound source connected, the speakers (5.1) bought at the same time in a pack with the amplifier and speakers. Then I wanted to set up the speakers automatically using the auto setup function of the amplifier. And there: problem.
The left and right front speakers are not producing sound??
I read the manual, I can’t find anything!!
The auto setup tells me it doesn't detect any front speakers and stops.
I’ve tested the cables, the speakers, everything works. So it must be the amplifier.
In the manual, I read and tried: increasing the volume on the speakers, I’ve read and tried everything I could.
If someone has had the same problem and found a solution, I’m interested, because I have a great system but it's not doing 5.1....oh disappointment.

I have the same amp and the front speakers need to be connected to the A connectors, which are the screw terminals.

I have a question, I can't get the optical connection of the amp to work with that of the PS3, do you know if it works for you?

Hi,
for my part and after looking quite a bit, I ended up realizing that I had connected the speakers incorrectly behind the amplifier.
What seems to be logically the simplest spots to connect the speakers are not. There are smaller and less visible spots that are the right place to connect the side speakers.
If this can help you not go crazy for a moment... good luck.

Hello everyone, I'm at a friend's house who received this amplifier for Christmas.

So I tried to connect his Blu-ray player via HDMI (I see the picture but there's no sound)
the television is also connected via HDMI.

To test the sound, I plugged in his iPod with an audio cable, one side with a yellow connector and a jack,
and on the other side yellow, white, and red. I didn't connect the yellow one meant for video.
For your information, I plugged it into the front (on: video aux), and I set the amplifier to v-aux!!!

I have sound, which proves that the audio connections are done correctly!
(If you also want to try your sound, the connections are easy and can be done with any mp3 player, computer, etc.)

I hope my post will help you in your search and that it will help me as well!

Hello everyone,

I have another little issue with this amp.

For me, the PS3 works perfectly,
But I can't get the sound from my Freebox HD to come out of the amp (connected by RCA digital audio cable -orange-)

I know there's some kind of reset for the Freebox, but it still doesn't work....

I just acquired one of these amps. There's no comparison to my old 2x50; it's a no-brainer!!
Well, I can't help you because I have problems too. For example, I don't know where to connect my stereo VCR!!! On another note, I thought I understood that to get 5.1, you need to connect the DVD via coaxial fiber or, failing that, via optical fiber. However, the operation of the speaker connections isn't explained; thus, it's impossible to listen with two pairs of speakers simultaneously (A+B) and it's understood that you can connect two pairs, but for different uses (audio or video). The programming of the scene buttons 1 to 4 is brief! I advise against diving into it until everything is perfectly operational and, above all, MASTERED!! Can a 2x50 amp be used to amplify a subwoofer? How do you connect it?
Why does the Yamaha manual specify 5x100, while the comparative test from Fnac indicates 2x65??
Finally, explain to me what the new connections mean: dvd/cbl, DVR/etc...
As for the antenna tuner connection, I believe my landlord doesn't agree to me driving a metal stake into the floor of the 4th floor (they really have a lot of humor, these Asians HA HA HA!!!)
