Connecting a subwoofer with a jack

Hello,
I just bought an ONKYO 5.1 amplifier, and I retrieved my speakers from my old home theater.
For connecting the front, rear, and center speakers, no problem!
But I have a rather annoying issue with my subwoofer.
The subwoofer wires don't have a jack. But the input on the amplifier is a jack.
So I have one wire for positive and the other for negative. I got a jack, but I don't know how to connect the jack to the two wires since there's a ground and only one wire on the jack.
Could you please help me...?
Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 3.6.16
