[MSN] Very slow MSN Messenger

Can you help us understand
my friend has a PC running Windows XP.
With MSN Messenger she has a problem when she communicates on MSN Messenger, when she types and clicks send, her message takes 5 to 6 seconds before it goes through and appears in my chat window.

First of all, you need to make sure that both of you have the latest version of MSN MESSENGER, for that, go to www.ilovemessenger.fr

Then, how do you know that the message takes all that time to arrive?
Did you talk through the mic and time it? If so, that skews everything, because by the time the voice arrives, you respond, and the message goes back, there's always 5 or 6 seconds...

no, it's not about communicating with voice, everything is fine with the voice
it's in writing that my friend's issue is dragging on, and it's not just with me, it's with all her contacts.
the MSN versions are okay
when she writes and clicks on send, everything freezes for 6 seconds and she loses mouse functionality until the message is sent.
it's a really strange malfunction.

Indeed, it's very strange...  We should check if it still happens when she disables her firewall. If it's faster, it means the firewall is blocking some things, or at least slowing down the sending...

I'd like to know if you managed to solve your problem, Omambo, because I have the same issue: the message I write only gets sent after 5-6 seconds, MSN freezes during that time, however my interlocutor does receive the message the moment I hit "enter"...
If anyone else knows how to resolve this issue, I would be very grateful.

I have the same problem, the firewall on or off doesn't change anything, it seems like a bug in MSN (6.2) it's VERY strange because for a while it worked perfectly.

Hi, I’ve been having the exact same problem for a day: I send a message and the PC freezes for 5 seconds, then after 5 seconds the message shows up, it’s really annoying!! Has anyone found a solution to the problem? I tried reinstalling MSN but it doesn’t change anything at all!

essay to perform a restore to a previous time if you have XP
start/all programs/accessories/system tools/system restore
then check "restore my computer to an earlier time" then click on "next"

then choose a date in the calendar when you didn't have this problem

Hello everyone,
same issue, I tried the solution described here but nothing works. My computer does not allow restoration to an earlier date. I tried several dates in vain. Is there a solution??????? Pleaseeeee!! However, after some time it disappears for about 1.5 to 2 hours. Total confusion.

Uh, well, I tried the cleaner thing... I wanted to know if there's a procedure to follow, like a reboot after doing the thing... restarting MSN, you know, because it's not really working...

Just have to restart MSN... it doesn't seem to be coming back.
I'm going to notify the MSN user services because I contacted them and they didn’t know how to fix it :D

PROBLEM: I also had this really annoying problem, at first it took between 5 and 10 seconds to send an instant message. And everything froze during that time, then it got worse, it took almost 1 minute to send an instant message!!! So it was almost impossible to talk. I restored the computer several times. It didn't work. THE SOLUTION IS: uninstall Messenger from your computer and reinstall it! It worked for me!!!
