Hi
I just got Reason and I'm having a problem installing it. At first, everything is fine, but then it asks me to insert the Reason DVD, but it's downloaded, so I don't have it. I've heard of software (Daemon Tools) that makes the computer think there's a CD, but I don't know much more about it. Could someone help me??
Thanks in advance, ciao

Hello
after hours and hours of hassle, well I have the most reliable solution, friends :D
1- Download MagicIso Virtual CD/DVD. http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-magicdisc-overview.htm
2- Install it.
3- Right-click on the small MagicIso icon next to the clock (on the desktop) - then - Virtual CD/DVD-ROM - then - On M: No Media and finally Mount.
4- There you go, now select the ISO file that you downloaded. (Reason 4 Full DVD.uif)
AND NOW THE FILE OPENS AUTOMATICALLY AS IF YOU HAD STARTED THE DVD.
Note: you will notice a virtual DVD in the computer with the product name.
Good luck :D

WARNING: have a serial number on hand as it will be requested during the installation process.
4: After this step, it will ask you to insert the DVD. Close the window.
5: Copy the contents of the Sound Banks [see point 1], that is to say => "Factory Sound Bank.rfl" & "Orkester.rfl" into "Application" => "Reason" [copy these two files into the same folder as Reason, at the root]
6: Launch Reason 5
4: After this step, it will ask you to insert the DVD. Close the window.

MacOSX opens disk images (.dmg on Mac) with DiskImageMounter by default, so you just need to double-click. But you’ve probably already done that since it asks you to insert the Reason CD to complete the installation. And of course, for some reason, it's impossible to fake it with Disk Utility... A solution that works is to use Toast (for me, Toast 9 Platinum). You open your .dmg file with Toast, and you have the choice between mounting and something else like burning. If you want to have the CD, you can burn it; otherwise, just mount it. And there you go! Reason asks for a serial number when you open it, which isn’t too hard to find. And there you have it, enjoy!
I hope it's clear
PS: solution found on ThePirateBay I believe. Tested and approved

ATTENTION: make sure you have a serial number on hand as you will be asked for it during the installation process.
1: Show the image by double-clicking on the Reason 5 image, a window will appear. [Make sure to locate the "Sound Banks" folder for step 5]
2: Transfer “Reason 5” to “Application” by "dragging"
3: Launch “Reason 5”
4: After this step, it will ask you to insert the DVD. Close the window.

I don't think anyone has really answered the initial question since the person concerned has a Mac.
However, the answers mainly relate to Windows software.
Moreover, I have exactly the same problem, so if it were possible to resolve this installation for Mac, I would appreciate it :)
Thank you

The .iso image is the format of the file, meaning if the file you downloaded is in .iso format, you start Daemon Tools and install Reason as if you had the CD because Daemon Tools makes your CD drive believe it is reading a CD.
There you go

Hi, I don't know if you solved the Reason 4 problem
but it's very simple
you need to burn the ISO and
when you open it, you have Reason and a black arrow pointing to the application
drag Reason into it
and start the installation from your applications and it works
I only use Mac because I am a sound engineer
and the quality is really better than PCs
see you later if you need the key
I posted it in the forum

I use Mac OSX and I have the same problem, I have the isio file, I burned it to a DVD RW but it still asks me for the DVD Reason 4, it's frustrating!!!!!! If anyone has a solution for me, and of course on Mac OSX, I thank you in advance. P.S.: I've been trying to install it for three days, thank you for the solution.
You need to burn the ISO file as it is mandatory because the answer is found on the installation DVDs.
On Mac, software usually works like this, and it's the same for Digital Performer 6.
There you go.

ola ola I'm struggling, how are you? I found the trick, download magiccd
http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-magicdisc-overview.htm
then you go look for your iso file by opening the magic iso cd software using the small icon near the clock
right click ............. virtual cd.dvd rom....unmount ... you go find the iso image it records it as if the cd were in the drive, launch reason and it’s all done...

Hello,
I have the same problem. I burn the ISO but inside there's an .exe that makes it not work and it keeps asking me for the DVD.
Can someone help me?
Thank youuu

-download daemon tool
-install it
-at the bottom right next to the clock, there is the daemon tools icon (it's a sort of broken CD)
right-click on it, mount an image and look for the .iso image of Reason or any other software in .iso format
-normally, when you go to your computer (XP) or to 'this PC' (VISTA), you will see the software image instead of the disk drive (that is, a disk labeled Reason)
-then you just need to install the software by double-clicking on the image I just mentioned, and then the software installs
-at the end (unless you have several ISO images for Reason, I had 2), you just need to unmount the image and select ISO 2 of Reason to continue the installation, then mount ISO 2
-in the end, the software is installed
that's how I did it and since then it works very well ;)
see you soon

Hello,
normally when you've downloaded the reason file (at least if it's like mine, you end up with 1 or even 2 iso files, each representing the installation disc 1 and 2 like you find with quite a few games)
if you have them, there's nothing complicated, you just need to mount an image of the iso file (the 1st one if you have two)
then you start the installation, and if it asks you to install disc 2, you just need to unmount one image and mount another one, but this time with the iso of cd 2!
in the end, you end up with a cracked reason
if you still have any issues let me know, I'll help you :)
best regards

copy the iso or dmg image
open the file
copy reason into applications
stop when reason asks for the installation discs
create the three necessary discs:
disc 1: ido or dmg image file
disc 2: orchester: copy the sound bank, naming the cd: orchester
disc 3: factory sound bank: copy the sound bank, naming the cd: factory sound bank
restart the reason file
insert the discs in order
does it work?

I have the same problem, except that when I mount my ISO file in the virtual drive, it installs normally, but when I click on the icon on the desktop or in the installation files to continue the installation, it then asks me to accept the terms of use. After that, it asks me to insert the DVD.
I think it's because once the ISO image is mounted on the virtual drive, the icon of the virtual drive in "My Computer" does not show the icon Reason 4; it appears as an unknown file. So if someone has an ISO image, could you send me the hidden icon file from the ISO image?
Thanks everyone, visit http://musicblog.fr/

I have the same issue with Reason but I'm on Mac and I can't find the Magic ISO Maker...!!
Is it only available on Windows?
If so, is there an equivalent software for Mac?
Thank you all
Lyrikal
It's working like a charm!!!
Snoof, actually you start the program from the desktop icon, that's where it asks for the CD. And that's when you initiate Tef's procedure!
As smooth as butter!
