"Brightness" small icon on the monitor

Hello... On the desktop PC monitor (Windows 7) I have a black square (10 x 7 cm) titled “Brightness”... When I hover the mouse over it, the cursor slides underneath, but not onto it!! There are three squares on the right of the black square (“X”, “+”, “-”), so when I try to click on the “X” as to clear it, the cursor moves underneath... and it doesn’t work!! I’ve tried lots of things, but nothing helps... Can someone help? Thanks in advance, John.

    Hi,

    It’s a display originating from your monitor and not from Windows, probably a button to press.
