7 days later I receive it, no more BIOS password, cool but instead, during boot, the hard drive password is requested... with this charming little phrase on the report:
"No workaround for the hard drive password, replacing it is mandatory and not covered by this procedure"...

I have 2 Toshiba Tecra 9100 salvaged from Leroy Merlin without hard drives and without batteries due to a change in the computer fleet. Problem: there is a password at the BIOS level to be able to boot one of the 2 PCs.

As Primal said, this is a manufacturer anti-theft measure. If we start disclosing this type of manipulation on forums as visited as CCM, it makes no sense!!!
Toshiba is very clear in a Technical Support Bulletin: it's possible to remove the BIOS password (user and admin) but not the hard drive password http://support.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB6B01MC000CR01.htm

Furthermore, when I read on some posts "I've bought a second-hand laptop".... I want to reply: "contact the seller who should have the password(s), otherwise it's a fraudulent sale and the law will take over. So either we get a refund, or we file a complaint..."

Hi everyone, regarding the password issue, there are 3 solutions from Pentium (m) to (Duo)

1: change the EPROM
2: there’s a USB key that erases the password but (..)
3: flash the EPROM

there’s another solution but it poses a risk for your PC: sorry, the motherboard, look for the battery slot, remove the battery, connect the charger to the motherboard, solder the + and - of the battery, and then power on the motherboard. If you see the Toshiba icon, remove the charger. That’s it
